PCIe Gen 5 HMB vs Gen 4 with DRAM?

Hello. I was looking at 2 drives at Amazon Canada. Teamgroup Cardea A440 and Samsung 990 Evo Plus. Both are 2 TB and currently the same price at 170CAD. A440 is PCIe Gen 4 and a little slower on average but has DRAM. While 990 Evo Plus is Gen 5 with no DRAM. How much does PCIe Gen and DRAM really matter?

Due to the lane usage, both should be around the same performance tho.
Still, even from gen3 to gen4, unless you're dealing with huge files all day, you would already have not much of a performance bump, so I would advise to just go for the cheaper one.

If it is for boot drive then having dram is better. Secondary drive wise if it is for gaming then you really cant see any difference. Not sure about creative tools tho

They're both faster than you likely need. DRAM isn't as important with NVMe drives.
Also, just FYI, the 990 Evo Plus only has x2 lanes of PCIe 5.0, which is equivalent to the standard x4 lanes of PCIe 4.0.
