how to change nationality on student pilot certificate?

hi hi so i was wondering if anyone knows how i can change my nationality on my student pilot certificate as i became a us citizen recently. i have asked around and tried to look it up but i am still a bit confused. can i complete the process online or can my cfi help with this or do i have to go to the fsdo? i will probably be getting ready to take my stage check soon as well so will anything be affected if i have a temporary certificate?

I just had a student go through this exact process. It can’t be done online, you need to call your local FSDO and set up an appointment for them to update your records and issue you a new certificate.

You will need to contact your FSDO and get an appointment to update your records.

They asked me for the following:

• Pilot Certificate (Front & Back) • Medical Certificate • A completed FAA Form 8710-1 (they should provide details on what they want filled out in the 8710-1) • Also, please attach a document verifying the change in citizenship such as a U.S. naturalization document or a U.S. Passport.
