9070 xt or 7900 xtx?

Choosing parts to build my first pc, on the fence between a 9070 xt or 7900 xtx (planning on using no frame gen, little upscaling)
I'm taking into account the recent 9070 xt driver update, and if that gpu will get any more performance improving updates in the future or if I should go with 7900 xtx for better performance.

If you're exclusively playing the few fully ray/path-traced games, then sure, 9070 XT. But for everything else? Hands down, XTX.
Even if you plan to rely on FSR 4 just because marketing says it's the future, you'll probably still need Optical Scaling since most current (except a few) and older games won't support it.
Proper FSR 4 support will likely only show up in upcoming titles or ones that are still in active development. So it's gonna take a while before it really matters.

The 7900xtx is hands down the more POWERFUL of the 2, but at 1440p the 9070 is the better option. If gaming at 4k, 7900xtx with way more vram and more actual processing horsepower.

brother it’s like 5% faster LOL

If you playing at 4K 7900xtx looks like better option because 24G VRAM. For 1440p choice depending on price - at this resolution performance difference not very noticeable for these 2 cards.

if you plan on playing at 4k you might as well just opt for an nvidia card so you can upscale in most of your games because in my experience neither the 7900xtx or 9070xt really deliver in 4k

I'm gonna be playing at 1440p, so it doesnt matter too much?

You get fsr 4 and better rt with the 9070 xt

I usually play games with raytracing being off or nonexistant, like helldivers 2. Thats why I'm going with amd, for the better prices.

I play hd2 on a 7900 xtx, enjoy your games 👍

I’m probably going to get downvoted for this but In my opinion I’d go for the 9070Xt because it’s the newest and will be supported for longer then last generation.

The 7900 XTX is only 5% faster in standard raster but significantly slower in ray tracing. Unless you really need 24GB of VRAM, I'd get the 9070 XT.
