This Dash-8 has somewhat sparser seating options than usual, but at least it's roomy.

The dash-8 is the embodiment of the phrase "a flying Pringles tube".

I cannot unsee this now

I like the minimalist aesthetic. It creates a greater sense of space.

Where does the main structural strength come from in planes? They always look quite fragile when you see them like this
MiniGiantRiverOtter@reddit
Ignorance of physics, if you think too hard it all comes apart.

A very Pratchett-esque answer, there.

Stringers do most of the bending strength. Skins take torque and shear out the stringers. They are highly optimized, and as a result appear fragile and are when you load them wrong.

You're looking at it. The tube is the structure.

Cylinders are pretty strong shapes. Especially in their cross sections.

Finally some legroom

You could install a nice single-lane bowling alley in there.

This…I wish I could fly like this at all times. Give me a cool seating arrangement like a C130 with the benches and the nets or whatever so I can stretch my legs. I don’t need to be enveloped by tray table and foldable arm rest.

I think your local military recruitment office would like to have a word...

Looks a hell of a lot more comfortable than the last Dash-8 I was on.
Stoney3K@reddit
That's first class accomodations. If you're a box.
PamuamuP@reddit
Would be much louder though without insulation
JaggedMetalOs@reddit
So much room for activities!

Still, I bet some freak would sit nest to you

Little chilly up at cruise, though.

Having worked for Horizon for years I absolutely miss these planes.

Ah yes the innards of the DASH 8-400AT AIRTANKER
