EAA AirVenture Oshkosh Airshow 2025 - Planning

I will be attending my first EAA AirVenture Oshkosh Airshow in a couple of weeks. I am traveling from Hawaii, staying in West Milwaukee and driving up for the day on Wednesday to catch both the daily airshow and the night airshow. Question: I realize the parking area is far from the flightline, but do I have to carry my chair and camera gear the entire time? I was hoping I could initially just carry a camera and small lens for walking around and then going back to my car to get chairs and my longer lenses and find a spot to shoot the airshows for several hours. Is that doable or is it unrealistic to go back and forth?

You can go in and out all you want. What you may have issues with is leaving chairs or other items on the flight line while you are absent. The EAA keeps waffling on the policy on that, but I can tell you that if we need to get an airplane out, we'll at a minimum pitch unattended chairs to the side to get them out of the way. We may try to move them back, but it's not done with any precision.

Not a problem. Plenty of shuttles running, if you end up in one of the farther parking lots. Get there early, and you can probably get in to one of the closer lots. I generally don't get there early enough to park super close, but I get close enough to walk back to my car 2 or 3 times to drop off stuff, or get something.

As far as I know, you can go in and out if you hade a valid wrist band. I’ve walked out to go see the amphib base. You also have to walk out to go to the museum area. So, you should be able to return to your car to stash stuff
