Of all the crushes i had growing up, Carrie Fisher, Catherine Bach, Stevie Nicks stands above them all. She would sing me to sleep most nights with that angel of a voice from 1982 to 1990. I had the good fortune to actually meet her while I was in the Navy. We were down in Key West on detachment, and stumbled into a little diner off Duvall St at about 6 in the morning after a night of drinking. There was 3 of us, and we were pretty chill, just trying to get some food before we went back to the barracks. It was the late 90’s. She was at the end of the counter and I realized it was her, and we just all started talking, simple stuff, how great her music was and she had played the night before and leaving in a few hours. We all finished breakfast and went back to the base. Coolest encounter I have ever had.
Who was your big crush, and did you ever meet them?

She was Stifler's mom before Stifler's mom.

She's no Joan Jett, but to each their own.

One of my favourite song lyrics is ‘Dracula comes from Transylvania, Stevie nicks talks about kleptomania, Johnnie looked out of his bedroom window and shouted to his mum, Fred Titmus’
It took me years to link Nicks and kleptomania. It’s a great lyric, from the song Fuckin Hell it’s Fred Titmus. as are most by half man half biscuit.

I met her once. She was super friendly and gracious. I got her autograph and have it framed.

Not looking to offend your taste, but just never understood her appeal. She was only modestly attractive and had a voice that you would expect from a 2-pack a day smoker after 50 years of smoking.

My brother found an abandoned kitten in a parking lot, and asked if I could keep it. I was hesitant at first, but especially considering that my niece was with him when he found it I said yes. If it was a boy I was going to name it Tom Petty, but my little girl is Stevie Nicks.

I had a very similar interaction with Edie Brickell in 1989. We had just seen her band play at a small venue, and we were at a bar not far away. She and her whole band come in, and the place isn’t very crowded. So we ended up just sort of hanging out with them for a few hours, drinking and talking. She was only a few years older than me, and since I’ve always had this thing for hippie chicks, I was absolutely smitten. All in all it was a simply wonderful interaction, and I’ve seen her many times since then… All at small venues, and I’m secretly hoping to run into her again and see if she remembers that.

She’s love worthy
