What are the best salty snacks?

Hi all, I am going to be travelling soon and I was wondering what are some of the best salty snacks I can take with me?
I’m very dull and only like salted popcorn / salted pretzels. I’d like some alternatives to these in the similar snack range.

Pork scratchings.
(N.B. scratchings, not crunch.)

If you like cheese, try Serious Pig snacking cheese. Crunchy bits of slightly salted burnt cheese. Makes a difference from the crisp based snacks.
phatboi23@reddit
i shouldn't be allowed near such a thing as they sound like crack to me haha

This sounds amazing. I love cheese. Not sure if you’ve seen the cathedral cheese pickle and cracker snack boxes.😍

Aldi do honey and lime and hot honey flavoured roasted cashews that I'm not allowed to buy any more because they're so addictive.
Also chilli rice rackers, wasabi peas (excellent with hay fever) and those Japanese covered peanuts, whatever they're called.
Obvious-Water569@reddit
Red Leicester Mini Cheddars.
I could eat my bodyweight in those fuckers.

Biltong
Ok_Recording39@reddit (OP)
Is that like a beef jerky?
jonewer@reddit
Same idea, but biltong should be slightly wet and fatty
Legitimate_Finger_69@reddit
Christ no. Biltong has no sweeteners and is air dried.
kotare78@reddit
Yeah exactly. It's just flavoured dried meat.
Inkblot7001@reddit
There is only one answer, pork scratchings.

Peanuts
mhoulden@reddit
Prawn crackers from a Chinese takeaway. Bacon Frazzles are probably one of the saltiest crisp-style snacks.
mentaldriver1581@reddit
Salted caramel popcorn could be a game changer.
Diligent-Way8231@reddit
Squares crisps or French fries

Pork scratching are obviously the winner, but Lidl do some peanut flavoured wotsits that are great too.
Legitimate_Finger_69@reddit
Always amazed peanut isn't a bigger crisp flavouring here. Most of the Middle East it's thee default flavour for any Wotsit type snack rather than orange cheese.

Roast salted pistachios in their shells. Best salty snack in the world.
thread_cautiously@reddit
Thisss. I haven't eaten them in literal years because once I start, I can't stop. So its better to stay away altogether
Legitimate_Finger_69@reddit
How do they get the salt into the shell and onto the nut through that tiny little crack? That's human ingenuity for you.
jaffajake@reddit
Could try a pack of deez
zillapz1989@reddit
Deez nuts.
Ok-Profit9227@reddit
Roasted and salted cashews 👌🏻
Ok_Recording39@reddit (OP)
Good idea! Thank you. I love any roasted or salted peanut. Home bargains do a brand called “nobbly nuts” which are really nice.
thread_cautiously@reddit
Try the 'Sensations Thai Sweet Chilli' ones, they're so moreish
Ok_Recording39@reddit (OP)
Those used to be amazing! I feel they don’t put as much seasoning on them anymore :( same with their crisps so they don’t taste the same anymore
Fanackapan_@reddit
A perfect protein energy hit too.

Salt lick.

TK Maxx have excellent snacks, I really like the salted edamame beans. The graze mix bags are good too, the salt and pepper one, or salt and vinegar flavour. I really like the pea snacks (green crisps shaped like pea pods) that you get in Chinese supermarkets too
chartedfredsun@reddit
Salted broad beans
Turtlefrog89@reddit
Ritz crackers
huskydaisy@reddit
Pork scratchings and also salted sweetcorn both come to mind.
Ok_Recording39@reddit (OP)
Omg I completely forgot about salted sweetcorn I used to eat it all the time in uni (they gave out 100s of free bags at freshers) and that’s all I would snack on lol. Thank you for reminded me! New snack fixation
