Preventing fridge crapping out on me?

Hey all my fridge freakin died and I’m getting her replaced but any tips on how to “take care” of it so it has less chance of it breaking down? These things happen and tbh I did have it on the highest setting and the little freezer door was broken off… but with this new one coming in I want it to last as long as possible. Any advice? thanks

3rd party fridge or oem? 3rd party ones are gonna break a lot, they aren't really designed to be bouncing around in a truck. They usually last like a year or 2 at most in my experience. I think putting a pad underneath helps a little bit to absorb a little bit of the impact from bumps. OEM I don't think there's anything you can do. Either way I think it's just something you have to deal with

This. Boss man spent the money for years on the mounted fridges, but just went and bought pallets of Walmart fridges because he was replacing them all the time. $100 fridge hurts less when it fails in a year than a $700 fridge lol

Dam oh well then. And it’s just the stock fridge in the company freightliner.

Does anyone have experience with those chest travel fridges like an ARB?

Honestly, I have a Chinese branded one that is a year and a half old with no sign of failure. It's designed so that the tip point for oil getting in the lines is 45* and doesnt seem to be as susceptible to bumps causing failure.
I was replacing mini fridges and thermo electrics every 1-2 years, so it being 1.5 years old and not making any weird noises is impressive lol. But I will say, I power it with ac not DC.

First one I had was a knock-off Domestic from Amazon Linsion was the "brand". Cost $250 and lasted 4 years before the compressor scrapped out.
2nd one I spent a little less on and it's all plastic instead of metal and it's going strong after 2 years. Actually cools slightly better than the more expensive one but has less capacity.

If I wasn't company the passenger seat would be gone. And I have one of those.

If it’s a fridge you bought at Lowe’s or similar, they usually last one to two years. Not much you can do about it, the vibrations and temperature variations take a toll.
I never tried one of those fancy truck fridges because of their price. I usually buy a cheap dorm fridge from a student leaving college and use it for as long as it will go.

It was the fridge that came with the cascadia. That weird box looking thing. When I first saw it I thought it was a drawer or something tbh.

If you break the freezer door off again ... a gallon sized plastic bag and 2 office clips (one on each side) will keep the freezer a freezer. 😁

Oh fr thanks for the tip
