Recommendations for a Sump

Looking at amazon there are an absolute messload available, just wondering if anyone has a particular preference, or recommendations on ones to avoid, or if it even matters.

This is one of those moments I'd go to Sportys or Spruce and pay a little extra to know I'm getting something real. I wouldn't trust Amazon for this (not that I really trust them for anything anymore).

I hate GATS they break so easily and leak all the time but they are the best ones in the market I guess

Any particular plane?
I always prefer the long thin ones, typically with a screwdriver on the end that I’ve never used. Not a fan of the cups.

I have a Cessna 150 and I use the screwdriver every preflight to undo the screws on the cowling when I check the oil. Just an FYI as to when it’s useful.
AngryCamelTeeth@reddit
Well darn I didn’t know their oil check is protected by screws. I’ve only flown 172s and 182s with their fancy buttons or latches.
Hengist@reddit
Cessna 150 oil usually isn't protected by screws. Mine is protected by two quick snaps. Every Cessna 150 cowling is a little different.

That’s what she said

Velocity SE. Meant to post that from this account, forgot that I had made a new account on my PC one day when I couldn't remember the password, lol

GATS all the way. I need to get one for myself because the planes at the flying club only have the thin test tube types which suck because it’s hard to see the blue dye.

GATS jars are the best I’ve used so far. Large, easy to use, and allows you to return the sumped fuel to the tank through a special membrane that separates the fuel from water and solid contaminants.
Nnumber@reddit
Gats jar keeps you from having to find a can, dumping a tiny bit of lead on the ground, or putting crap back into your tank. I switched years ago and you isn’t think of going back
