Reminder to check if Atlassian is over billing you

Atlassian push their products pretty hard, offering "free" trials of new products like Product discovery and Service management. When you add new users to Jira they automatically add them to the free tier products until they are automatically upgraded to paid tier. and you find that you are paying 2x the amount you should. Just canceled all of my "free trials" that I never asked for.
This is a PSA to go into Settings(⚙️)->Billing and see if there are any services you do not use and can cancel.
The naming and cancellation process make it scary to cancel them as you fear deleting your Jira. Don't let dark patterns win.

The only shit thing they did was getting rid of on-prem licensing for every org that can‘t handle the exorbitant costs of their datacenter licenses. They‘ve culled themselves from a lot of industries that can‘t or won‘t go cloud-only and I still don‘t understand the sheer stupidity that must have led to this decision.
Confluence and Jira Service Management are still miles ahead of any other competing solutions though. I like working with them as a user, they give me what I need as an agent, and they‘re easy to administer and have extremely clear documentation.

I haven’t been able to log in as admin for almost 4 months, I never get the code emailed and there’s basically nobody to talk to about it unless YOU SIGN IN AS ADMIN. Nobody in our org is getting the email codes, we can’t find them blocked anywhere, we set up a new account with a throwaway email and it gets the codes emailed just fine. Opened a sales ticket and they said “we checked the emails are getting sent talk to your IT department”.
If we don’t have it resolved by Friday we’re just cancelling the card it’s billed to.

This seems like standard free subscription practice. Don't think I've ever seen one that automatically cancels, they pretty much all automatically convert to paid after X amount of time.

I was pleasantly surprised to see Microsoft give me the choice between cancelling or purchasing new licences on conclusion of a trial. I can safely say that they've won business from me because of it.

They create a new service, give you a popup of "start free" with no time limit, automatically add users then automatically upgrade you to paid when it goes over the free user cap.
Everything is legal, sure. But its also legal to remind people to check if they are paying for a product they do not use.
