Will there be a national day of mourning when the first Brady kid dies?

I can't imagine feeling terribly sad about any other actors.
funkanthropic@reddit
When Marcia dies, Jan better have a solid alibi
JimTheJerseyGuy@reddit
I see this as a murder mystery with Jan revealed as the killer at the end and going into a "Marsha, MARSHA, MARSHA!" rant.
TheMightySurtur@reddit
With her accomplice and boy friend: George Glass
theupside2024@reddit
And she would have got away with if wasn’t these meddling kids and stupid dog!
marshallkrich@reddit
curls_and_coffee@reddit
This Jan string is making my day…She made a big mistake when she used George Glass as her alibi..
marshallkrich@reddit
It's covered...
FormerCollegeDJ@reddit
Jan was able to get over it after she found out about 1990s band Eve’s Plum.
Take that Marcia Marcia Marcia!!!
BenefitAdvanced@reddit
She’ll be in a afro wig and dark glasses fleeing the country.
Left-Thinker-5512@reddit
If she dies with the tiki idol, we all know what happened.
notevenapro@reddit
In my mind, at 59, the passing of people from 90210 is more devastating.
jimheim@reddit
I'm only 52 and I feel like I'm too old to have been a 90210 fan. I'm not sure I ever even saw it. I think I was busy partying with my new found car freedom by then. Either way I missed the entire show.
exscapegoat@reddit
I watched it with my younger stepsister
barbelsandpugs@reddit
Same, right down to the age. Also it was on fox and we didn’t live in an area where we had reception for it (and no cable) so I’m sure that factored into it too.
Outrageous_Risk6205@reddit
It takes...different eras, different drugs, different strokes.
Pristine_Main_1224@reddit
Oh noooooo. I see what you did there.
dhelene@reddit
it still blows my mind that dylan and brenda are dead.
Surprise_Fragrant@reddit
Damn, when you put it that way.... that sucks...
notevenapro@reddit
I agree. But Ian is still going strong with sharknado.
ames739@reddit
I remember watching Shannon Doetry on Little House, then 90210 and then Charmed. I still can’t believe she’s dead.
jimmysmiths5523@reddit
And the one who played Cole had passed within the past few days.
martej@reddit
Right? I didn’t know all the Brady kids were still alive, and how are they outliving cast members of 90210?
ImaSource@reddit
Less cocaine.
Ok-Opportunity-8457@reddit
Does Oliver count?
zinky30@reddit
Most annoying character ever.
neonturbo@reddit
Worse than Frank Burns or Nellie Olson? I think Sam from Diff'rent Strokes would be pretty high on the list too.
DonnyDiddledIvanka@reddit
My fantasy football team has been named the Fighting Olivers for years and his picture is my team logo!!
MyriVerse2@reddit
He's going to the Flipside.
Whovian73@reddit
I just found the website last week!
http://kvflipside.org/index.html
I watched it for the videos. We didn’t have MTV.
Ok-Opportunity-8457@reddit
I remember Big John, Little John from Saturday mornings!
W0gg0@reddit
Oliver will outlive them all.
jagger129@reddit
😆
AmericanDreamDR@reddit
I’m having a party that day.
Kali-of-Amino@reddit
They will live forever on celluloid to thoroughly creep out sensitive children for decades to come. Or maybe not, I haven't seen them on anywhere in ages
riding_writer@reddit
Damn that's harsh
librarianjenn@reddit
No
neonturbo@reddit
I think it is more shocking (and sad) when someone younger dies. I doubt there will be much more than a 5 second blip on the evening news for these actors, just like every other celebrity that died.
The only thing that would make a difference is if the whole cast simultaneously dies when they got hit by a self-driving Waymo while singing Sunshine Day on live TV and/or streaming on social media. Then they get 20 seconds on the news with endless loops of the car crash.
AZPeakBagger@reddit
When an actor or musician passes on, I stop and ponder at best 20-30 seconds. I don't get how people get all broken up about a person they've never met or not related to.
DaisyJane1@reddit
For me, losing Prince and Olivia Newton-John were heartbreaking.
riding_writer@reddit
Same but this one will hit me pretty hard as I'm friends with Cousin Oliver aka Robbie Rist. I was close with Susan Olsen aka Cindy until she had a mental health crisis and went full blown racist.
librarianjenn@reddit
I’m sorry, and I hate to hear this.
BenefitAdvanced@reddit
Thindy’s a rathist!?
riding_writer@reddit
Ok I laughed way too hard but yeah she's had severe mental health issues and has gone down some ugly paths. We were in animal rescue for years together and it was so painful to lose her friendship.
Robbie Rist aka Cousin Oliver is one amazing dude. He's a musician, actor, and was in Sharknado!!
No-Win-2741@reddit
One of my Junior high boyfriends played in a band with him.
riding_writer@reddit
Small world!!
OreoSpeedwaggon@reddit
Kidd Video too.
riding_writer@reddit
Dang, I forgot about Kidd Video!
He's done some voice acting, including the original Michelangelo from TMNT and Stuffy from Doc McStuffins. I love to tease him about being a Disney Prince.
jagger129@reddit
😆
Golfntukee@reddit
Thanks for the laugh
brunnock@reddit (OP)
I was devastated when Robin Williams committed suicide.
SmallHeath555@reddit
I am such a New Englander I thought this was about Tom Brady.
librarianjenn@reddit
I’ll add you to my church prayer list
FormerCollegeDJ@reddit
😂😂
As an NFL fan, I can’t help but laugh.
ComprehensiveAd8815@reddit
Who?
GozerDestructor@reddit
It'll be a national day of mourning when the last member of the Addams Family dies. John Astin (Gomez) is 95 years old, and is the last Addams standing.
IllustriousEnd2055@reddit
Flags halfstaff!
satyrday12@reddit
Quarter staff if it's Marcia!
OhSusannah@reddit
It won't be a national day of morning. Instead, it will be the cover article of the AARP magazine and we will mourn and tell younger people and they will shrug. The ones who like memes might say "sure, Jan".
HiOscillation@reddit
Who?
CharleyLH@reddit
Yes, unless it’s Cindy. Because fuck Cindy.
Efficient-Video-9454@reddit
Pretty wild they’re all still with us. Not just age but they are 63 to 70, plus the high percentage of young celebrities and celebrities in general dying young
Alternative-Pace7493@reddit
Not gonna lie, that will bother me. The Waltons kids too.
Mr_Guavo@reddit
It's macabre to think a Brady kid will ever die.
Chaghatai@reddit
No, just people trying to be the first to post links to the news article about it they find in their feeds, and a deluge of tweets and other SM posts from celebrities as is the way nowadays
DillyBubbles@reddit
LOL! When I first saw this I thought of Tom Brady.
MorningBrewNumberTwo@reddit
Oliver is the coolest Brady.
Specialist_District1@reddit
It’s interesting how this group has become all about nostalgia for the past and complaints about the indignity of getting old. This is the most un-GenX thing I could possibly imagine. Whining is not who we are. Neither is selling out the future to cling to the past. An actor you used to watch on TV might die of old age and this is what you post about?? Despicable! I don’t know you people. I’ll be out kicking ass and taking names. You guys are just Boomers trying to masquerade as the forgotten generation.
captaingrey@reddit
Who gives flip? Just another dead actor. People are weirdly obsessed with celebrities.
Cheese-Manipulator@reddit
Cousin Oliver first...
FormerCollegeDJ@reddit
There wasn’t when Keith Partridge (David Cassidy) died.
SolomonGrumpy@reddit
😥
brunnock@reddit (OP)
He was an adult when the show went on the air.
FormerCollegeDJ@reddit
Cassidy was also a teen idol at his peak of popularity, and was probably more popular than any of the Brady Bunch kids.
ParsleyMostly@reddit
Oh wow, I feel like a jerk for not knowing that
Botherguts@reddit
I’m more surprised to find out they are alive.
Alewort@reddit
This is the story of a man who doesn't care.
imllikesaelp@reddit
They’re still alive!?
brooklynflyer@reddit
No
MooseRoof@reddit
We lost over a million to Covid and didn't have a national day of mourning.
RelevantMention7937@reddit
Buffy dying way way back when was the worst
Alternative-Neat-123@reddit
did those dam boys ever visit their mother's grave, a single time in five seasons? f them boys
craigjclark68@reddit
j_grouchy@reddit
I suppose I'm the only Xer that never watched a single episode of Brady Bunch
frogger2020@reddit
When it rained during recess, the Brady Bunch was always put on the tall tvs for us to watch in the cafeteria.
OreoSpeedwaggon@reddit
There was no national day of mourning when Florence Henderson (Carol), Robert Reed (Mike), or Ann B. Davis died (Alice), so why would there be one for any of the kids. Yes, it'll be sad to see someone that was our age as kids eventually die, but c'est la vie. The world will move on.
brunnock@reddit (OP)
They were adults. We didn't watch them grow up.
OreoSpeedwaggon@reddit
The point I was trying to make is that other members of the cast were just as memorable on the show, and when they died, the world didn't stop and nothing changed.
The same goes for people we watched grow up on other shows that have died, like Gary Coleman, Dana Plato, and Suzanne Crough. It was sad when it happened, but everyone moved on.
FuckrodFrank@reddit
All the Brady kids are alive? Wow.
SecretGardenSpider@reddit
They aren’t THAT old.
Dede0821@reddit
They’re all still alive?
tvieno@reddit
This post means that they are all still alive. Whodathunk?
Opus-the-Penguin@reddit
Especially since the Partridge Family have already lost two... and one of them was Tracy! Ouch. Danny Bonaduce, on the other hand, surprisingly still alive. Kind of like how Gary Coleman has passed but Todd Bridges is still around.
ironeagle2006@reddit
Gary had massive health problems you don't need 2 kidney transplant surgery for nothing in a lifetime.
Medusa_7898@reddit
Danny is like Keith Richards. He’s gonna live forever.
Opus-the-Penguin@reddit
The middle row of that 3x3 grid are all gone. Just waiting to see which side breaks first.
FormerCollegeDJ@reddit
Considering all three of them (Robert Reed, Florence Henderson, and Ann B. Davis) would all be over 90 years old if they were still alive, that isn’t that surprising.
4Jaxon@reddit
While “Friends” didn’t depict stereotypical Gen X culture, Matthew Perry’s life certainly reflected the struggles many of us have faced. He was one of us and I miss him. RIP Chandler Bing.
Suspicious-Loss-7314@reddit
I highly recommend listening to his audiobook. Matthew Perry narrates it himself. It’s just devastating to listen to his voice, knowing that he would die shortly after recording. But the book is excellent, and such a good candid look at addiction.
rahnbj@reddit
I’m surprised they are all alive TBF. There about the same age as I am and my graduating class has quite a few that have passed already, sadly.
JaiBoltage@reddit
I find it unusual that three of the Glee kids are deceased all the while being 25 years younger than Cindy and Bobby Brady.
