Destinations for my car enthusiast dad’s birthday?

Car guys: please help me. My dad will be 60 in September and I’m trying to pick a place to take him on a surprise trip. Any recommendations of cities/towns to go or museums and stuff would be appreciated!
A little bit on my dad’s interests:
- He loves old muscle cars, but also appreciates newer sports cars/supercars.
- We’re a Chevy family and he is currently restoring the 1968 Camaro that he drove when he met my mom.
- He is a big history buff.
We’re on the East Coast, but anywhere in the US is fine. Thank you in advance :)

The annual Auburn Cord Duesenberg Festival (Auburn, Indiana) is a “must do” for a car guy. It usually takes place over Labor Day weekend which would be perfect for a September birthday, but this year is in late August. Of course the focus is on these 30s classics, but they also hold a huge auction, swap meet, & show featuring muscle cars. He’ll love it - guaranteed!

Wheat to LA in April , saw the Petersen Museum, was awesome , they also have another section called the vault that we missed out on due to time constraints.

This is the answer. Be sure to include the vault at the Person. That's where the gold is. I'm an old guy, and there were a couple of cars there that brought tears to my eyes.

Everyone will say a museum but I’d say get a corvette C8 rental and track time while telling him about the car in detail.
It’ll give you guys a chance to bond and create lifetime memories, way more than a boring museum visit would.

My mom did that for his 50th 😭 he loved it, but I was trying to do something original haha

The Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum and the RV/MH Hall of Fame museum are fairly close together in northern Indiana. Also, the Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing museum in Florida is awesome for drag racing fans.

Can you please give me some way to reach out to him directly. I just want to talk to him. Ideally a public account where I can Dm

Can you please tell him I’m sorry. We only argued because I wanted to stay with him and didn’t know how to express that.
He only wanted me to go because I didn’t comfort him. I’m so sorry. Can he please give me one more chance.

girl. can you stop making new accounts to contact me about him? it’s fucking crazy. 😭
Beneficial-Hat5244@reddit
Your actions are so confusing. You asked me to leave you alone. I’m glad to do so. Does he have a public account?

Can we please do private chatting. if you can please speak with me once, I promise to stop for good. You haven’t given me a fair chance.

The Nascar museum in Charlotte is awesome and they take you for a ride on the speedway in a van they show you the rooms where they build the cars and engines and it looks like NASA scientist stuff if you contact the track you can schedule a ride along with a race car driver and ride with him at insane speeds it’s thrilling to go 150 mph with the windows down

Does he have any public account where I can contact him directly?

Ford Museum. Highlights include presidential Lincolns (including JFK's), the chair that Lincoln was shot in, the Rosa Parks bus, lots of trains and planes and generators and stuff. Cars, too.

Los Angeles.
It's the heart of car culture in the USA.

Is there a price cap? You could take him for a track day where he can go drive a few super cars but it tends to get pricey per car depending on what he wants to drive.

Vegas has a place where you can pay to drive exotic cars like a Ferrari or Lambo for a few laps on their small track

There’s one here in Atlanta also. They have plenty of cars with a wide range of prices. I’m interested in doing it myself

Plus a plant tour (if they're running) and book him some track time at NCM, you can do guided laps in their fleet

If you have something fun to drive, Tail Of The Dragon in North Carolina.

If he enjoys just looking at cars, the Corvette museum is pretty cool.
If he enjoys driving cars, head to the tail of the dragon in TN/NC and get a cabin. Enjoy some of the best driving roads in the world

Check out somernitescruise dot com, it is info about a SE KY cruise-in. If the weather cooperates there are usually 1,000+ cars there.
Depending on how far away you are it might be a great weekend thing to do with your Pop.
