If I swap out my 1080ti for a new GPU, is it a simple plug and play or are there extra things I need to buy or steps I need to take? Any suggestions for a GPU to upgrade to?

I'm looking to upgrade my 1080ti and I am hoping that a GPU swap is all I need. When replacing a GPU, do I need to consider replacing other parts or will I be okay with a simple swap? Lastly, what GPU is a good upgrade for my 1080ti? I am thinking of the 9070 XT or one of the 5000 series. I play at 1080p 60FPS. I'm simple, as long as I can play on ultra settings and FPS is locked at 60, I am a happy man. Thank you for your advice.

The 1080ti can’t do 1080p? Mine seems to.. even 1440.. so why can’t yours!

it can! haha but im not sure it can last another 8 years... =)

60 FPS @1080p? The 5070. It will do that for years.

Thank you! Yes, I don't need higher than this!

If you switch from Nvidia to AMD it's a good idea to use DDU. There's lots of videos online. It only takes about 5 minutes and then your computer shuts off. You put in the new GPU. Download driver and good to go

Thank you!

You shouldn't need to change anything else except maybe upgrade to 32gb of ram.
9070 XT is a great card but I would go with the non XT version instead, its $120 cheaper and only 8% slower + has all of the exact same features as the XT.

You'll also need to use DDU, here is a easy video that explains everything https://youtu.be/jxwDPu_hOD4
also, I would recommend getting a 1440p display at some point.

Thank you! I will look into getting the 9070! Yes, I don't want to spend too much if it's not needed
