Upgrade from AM4 to AM5 - is it worth it?

Hi!
I'm currently on the verge of purchasing a new motherboard, RAM, and CPU for my build. Before I start listing parts—about 10 months ago, I upgraded from a Ryzen 5 2600X to a 5600X because my previous build was destroyed in a lightning strike (literally, our house was hit by lightning — though not everything in my PC was fried). At the time, I only had enough money for a slight upgrade, so I decided to stick with AM4 a little longer.
A few days ago, I upgraded my GPU from an RX 5700 XT to an RX 7900 XT 16GB, and I can already feel that the CPU just isn’t performing the way I’d like (or at least I think so). It’s maxing out at 100% usage in some titles, while temps remain around a reasonable \~70°C (with an Arctic Freezer 34 cooler). So, the thought of upgrading to AM5 has really been on my mind. I can’t fully enjoy this build knowing that it’s probably not being pushed to its full potential — especially since I play some CPU-heavy games too.
I’ve already found a friend who’s using a 10-year-old Intel CPU and is willing to buy all my old parts (which are still under warranty) — including the RAM, motherboard, and 5600X. This means I wouldn’t be losing money by swapping so soon, and I wouldn’t be leaving this CPU to collect dust.
With that said, here’s my beta version of an upgrade plan. It includes the old parts I’m replacing and the new ones I’ve picked myself — open to discussion if there are better options in 2025 at a similar price point, if anyone’s kind enough to spend time reading this :D
From -> To
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600X -> Ryzen 5 7600X
MB: ASUS TUF Gaming B550-PLUS -> GIGABYTE B650 EAGLE
RAM: Kingston FURY 32GB DDR4 3200MHz -> Patriot Viper Venom 32GB DDR5 6000MHz CL30
(Parts I wouldnt change)
GPU: RX 9060 XT 16GB
PSU: GIGABYTE UD750GM Gold
1x old ass HDD, 1x 500GB Samsung NVMe SSD and 1x 1TB WD Black NVMe SSD
Monitors: 2x 1080P 165Hz Samsung 27'' ish monitors (dont know exact specs)
Important note: Either my current motherboard’s RAM slots are failing, or the RAM itself is faulty. Whenever I slightly move the PC while it’s off — or even just clean it — the RAM somehow stops working until I unplug and reseat the modules one by one. Personally, I don’t think this is a me problem. I’ve built all of my PCs before and never experienced this issue. It’s also one of the things prompting me to consider an upgrade.
The actual question: Would this upgrade improve my build’s performance? If you were in my position, would you choose different parts to upgrade to, or are the ones I’ve picked good in terms of price/performance? Is upgrading to the AM5 platform really necessary? I’d like to stay in a similar price range, but I’m willing to spend a few hundred bucks more if it’s genuinely worth it.
I’ve already watched a few reviews — some people say it’s not worth it, while others recommend going for it. I’d really appreciate personal advice from someone with more experience than me, maybe even preventing me from "wasting" money. I’m someone who plays pretty much everything: from e-sports titles to the latest single-player and co-op games.

Not really. 1st argument: in gaming scenarios, you're gonna be limited by your GPU. 2nd argument: the 7600X and 5700X3D have minimal performance difference, and the latter is a swap-in replacement for your 5600X.
Now this is what I would say if you were planning to keep your motherboard, but as it's faulty, if you want to replace it I would make it a significative upgrade, with a 7800X3D for example. You would still be GPU-limited in most scenarios though, but the 7800X3D will be fine with most future GPU upgrades you throw at it.

I'm so sick of reading AI slop, it's only going to get worse as well.

You listed 2 different gpus.
And if you already made up your mind about selling your current rig (most of it) then why did you write like 2 paragraphs about it? Its not relevant.
AI can be good but at least proofread it or something....

Yep, my mistake - it is the 9060 XT - I am not a native speaker and I want my grammar to be correct while talking to others and not seem "dumb". I have no clue why it did that lol. The thing is that its not a 100% sale, he just told me he'd be willing to buy if I was willing to sell. Thats all

I was in similar shoes and ive kept the am4 and got a 5700x3d
Better than the 7600x
And fuck that btw...if you dont practice ut youll never be better. Pretty sure you look dumber now cause half of the post is unnecessary information and some contradicting information. Using AI a lot are making people dumber

Same. I upgraded to 5700x3d
LorkieBorkie@reddit
so is it 7900xt or 9060xt

Sorry, I was copy pasting part names and accidentally copied parts from a wish list on an online store lol. Its the 9060 xt 16gb
