Regarding recent political turmoil in the US, have the UK locals noticed an increasing amount of Americans expatriating to Britain lately?

Mostly in the title. Curious if there has been a recent change in the amount of Americans looking to establish residency in the UK, and any perceived outcomes of this movement.

Went to London the other month and lots of Americans around. Not very scientific but it's all I've got.

Hard to tell if they’re just tourists but yet to meet an American who’s moved here. As I understand they need to pay taxes in both locations until they completely revoke their US citizenship so they may be hesitant.

There's a lot around Liverpool these days; I suspect the huge pharmaceutical industry around here has something to do with it.

People saying they want to leave but whether they *get* it or even understand rules, I can't say. It is also summer so you get more tourists obviously but whether than means people are moving is not confirmed. Unlike what Reddit implies, coming to the UK longer than a tourist visa is difficult and expensive. People can't just decide on a will, they need a good reason.

Yep, my small town in the West Midlands is a de facto political refugee camp. Lots of left wing Americans here. It’s quite nice!

Nope, but then the only ones that will get in are going to be highly educated and higher earners. They tend to be a bit less 'american' so you won't be as likely to notice them
