Didn't go as they planned which is to drain my hours and be stuck in traffic forever
Been running at nighttime starting my shift at 2 AM, pedal to metal literally, did 2884mi this week on a 65mph governed running from MA-NC-PA.
And the only traffic i got stuck in is that Target trailer hitting the bridge pillar on I-81 NB yesterday.( surprised no one talked about it)
turning equipment in two days for a quick lil vacation

Companies do that shit.

I would ask my dispatcher to route me to HQ for some bullshit reason, then clean it out.
oickles@reddit
You would hate Denver and Atlanta
Robjla@reddit
Atlanta is where the freight is. I’m there all the time. Love hate thing
DukeBradford2@reddit
Try southern california. typical day is 13 hours or more if you have to use a 2/8 or 3/7 on a dock door just to get to a yard. Only 5 truck stops in all of LA and 3 are filled with box trucks and day cabs gone for their time at home. Last month it took me 6.25 hours to drive 205 miles. I have never made more than minimum wage and only once have I made over $200 for a day.

CPM in so cal is fucking robbery. NorCal too. Nothing like going 30mph up a mountain for a 300 mile delivery across the sierras.
scottiethegoonie@reddit
CPM kills you in LA. Local driver. It takes me 3 hours to go 60miles East outta LA during rush hour. Los Angeles to Bakersfield during the same rush hour takes less time and is double the distance.

I hate hate hate LA. Every time I go there it’s even worse than I expect. I would never expect to find a safe and legal parking spot—I either go to my terminal or stop over in Baker or Boron.

hiss ATL is a cursed place! It's nigh impossible to get from one end to the other without SOMETHING and I do mean ANYTHING is possible to halt traffic to a stop. Normal day.
ATL and Cincinnati hiss Let's just skip I-75 tis a silly place!
PGMHN@reddit
I curse Atlanta. I’ve been through there way too many times now and it’s ALWAYS something
oasuke@reddit
Meanwhile I live here and have a local route going back & forth through 75. Its not so bad at night. I'd never do this if it was a dayshift.
JankyMark@reddit
Yeah Atlanta is terrible
ConsequenceSweaty241@reddit
I told My company I won't go back to the north east till the fmcsa drops the 14 hour rule
Shiny-Starfish@reddit
I never have a problem in the NE. Company pays too much to avoid it. $.15 bonus for all miles driven when the load goes to the east coast. (That's VA up to ME, and includes all of PA.) I love NYC. I get $175 just for crossing the GWB. Hunts Point is my favorite delivery. Early morning delivery, so I cross GWB late at night. Hunts Point allows overnight parking. Find a spot and settle in. Drive back out after rush hour the next day.
Give me that delivery destination absolutely any time.
Delicious_Peace_2526@reddit
I’d just bring the truck back and tell them it’s a constructive dismissal on their part.
Goldleader-23@reddit
Dont ever give notice. Theyd never give you notice when they want to fire you. Why offer them the courtesy and give them the chance to fuck you
ChoneFiggins4Lyfe@reddit
Just make sure you haven’t accepted dispatch for any loads, or they can try to get you for load abandonment. Call them on your last load on the way back to yard and say you’re parking it and cleaning it out when you get there.
Greedy_Log_8351@reddit
Right on
SaltAndBitter@reddit
This is why you don't give notice in this industry. Every carrier ever plays fuck-fuck games
Rmabe4@reddit
My guy is being stuck in Pennsylvania making No money.
ratzm@reddit
Are you in a dedicated team? Just wondering which carrier
Individual_Wasabi669@reddit (OP)
Nah i wish, doing dedicated work but with OTR pay
The pumpkin
ratzm@reddit
I’m on a team dedicated to one client but we go many different places. Pickup from client locations and ships to a lot of different customers/receivers. I asked because we do eastern US and I’m in PA, NC, MA… North East a lot.
Individual_Wasabi669@reddit (OP)
