Is a naturally aspirated muscle car or supercar capable of towing at low speeds or pulling out stuck vehicles?

For example a V8 Ford Mustang or Audi R8. Assuming it has a tow hook connected to study point on the frame and is on a surface where it has traction, would it be able to pull out a vehicle stuck in mud? Assuming naturally aspirated so that we don't have to worry about the turbocharger only working at high RPM.

The only ones that can do that are chargers and challengers (specifically the police versions.) Bar towing. Also I’m reffering to the police versions of those cars.

I don’t really see why it matter that it’s a police model. Sure their beefed up, but their not beefed up in a way that would matter for pulling out a stuck vehicle

The police models have things welded to the chassis that the civilian models don’t get Plus the police versions are optional awd. The civilian models only get awd on the v6 gt trim as an option.

Yeah but they dont come with those from factory or have awd. Therefore the cop ones are significantly better equipped for the job. You can modify anything to do whatever you want.

There's civilian AWD V8 models up through 2014, including the 300. One of which I own and have used to tow quite a bit with an aftermarket receiver hitch. It helps that the AWD versions have lower gear ratios as well.

I’m not saying it’s a good idea to do so, just that you can Realistically you shouldn’t be doing any of this with a muscle car. At the very least you’d want something like a wrangler, 4Runner or old Cherokee. Preferably an actual pickup truck though

So apparently it has very little to do with it being naturally aspirated, it seems to have very little to do with the engine at all. It’s in the transmission and sturdiness of the frame. So the things that make it a truck is what gives it truck-like functionality

Is there a post in this thread mentioning the inherent weaknesses of Unibody Construction ? Because this type frame work isn't the same a truck on a full box frame, it doesn't have single points of massively thick steel Plus tow vehicles have appropriately low gearing.

Shock loads. While a muscle car or a supercar might have the power, they are not designed for pulling another vehicle. A truck, 2 or 4 wheel drive, has a beefy frame that is designed for much higher loads I would also add gearing. My old Landy only has 217 hp, but is fully capable of towing 7700 pounds. However, it's only capable of a top speed of just over 100mph.
