I'm a relatively young car enthusiast (won't disclose my age) and I see alot of people who own 1 or 2 really expensive cars (up to like 100-130K. Would it be reasonable to buy a few relatively cheaper cars? Like 20-30K?

If it's important, I'm thinking of a c6, 370z, camaro3, and (maybe) and celica gt-4.

Nope, you're not allowed to do whatever you want with your own money, it has to be approved by the council.

And we are the council, so please give us your exact age and which cars you intend to purchase. 😁

c6, 370z, and either a celica gt4 or a 3rd gen camaro

I was being sarcastic, but to answer your question, there isn't a rule on how many cars you can own. You can buy literally as many as you can afford. Most teenagers can't reasonably afford multiple cars though, especially not multiple expensive cars.
Korr1ba@reddit (OP)
yeah, that is true.
I forgot to clarify in the title I'm not going to buy them until the next 7-12 years tho

Why don't you tell us what your income is so we can all say you're either using daddy's money, lying, or you don't have enough money to buy these cars.

I'm kinda new to the workforce but I work part time at a lot of very desperate places and they pay pretty well (like 90k a year in total)
I have like 10k left over from esports and skateboarding competitions when I was younger

If you're going to wrench on your own project car, then get whatever you want.
Just make sure you also get a reliable daily driver to get to and from work, so you can pay for your project.

3 Camaro3's

It really depends what you want.
But once you drive cars, sometimes you can really feel the engineered difference and cost.
My experiences have been Camaros Mustangs and Corvettes.. yes mustangs and camaros can be faster, but a corvette just feels better.
I imagine the same goes for high end cars.
Also the look at me factor.

I don't know anyone who owns a 6 figure car. I used to. My FIL was into hot rods. He was the stingiest, money obsessed piece of shit I ever met. He would sell the shirt off your back when you weren't looking. He never fixed a thing in his life, just tinkered around with detailing a bit.
I own (3) $5k cars and keep them road worthy using my tools and knuckles. One is a classic (3rd gen 4Runner). One is a muscle car (300c). I rebuilt the Hemi myself. One is a Suburban that takes my family on vacation. None of them turn heads. I don't give a shit what strangers at red lights think.
Am I less of a car guy than my FIL was with his shiny hot rods?

You can only drive one at a time. I think there is a distinction between being a car guy, focusing on knowing about cars, taking car of yours and being an accomplished driver, and having a fancy car as a flex. Figure out which one you want to be and you’ve answered your question.

Owning 2 cars is functionally better than one. If one has a problem, you have the other as backup. You can lend one to friends or family that need a car temporarily. And you can have two very different cars that serve different purposes. I have a soft top convertible roadster and a Volvo S60 with a roof rack. Best of both worlds.
Now I don't understand why you need 5 sports cars.

Is this A.I ?

I can't think of any situation where it is reasonable. That's just more junk you have to keep up with
PerformanceDouble924@reddit
Depends on how much $ you have, and how much real estate.
If you're cashed up and have a house, then have as many cars as you have space for.
If you've got one parking spot and your other options are street parking, it's going to be a giant pain in the ass to deal with multiple vehicles.

Reasonable is defined by your budget, not strangers on the internet.
Dedward5@reddit
As long as you have space and are fine with the duplicated ownership costs (it’s not linear though) why not. I run 3 cars that are all poor man’s(ish) classics which I acquired over time and I always have at least one car that works.
