Specific story about being anchored out . once upon a time I was a ship hand on a very nice sail boat sailing from the golden gate south to the Panama canal any way being a non drinker is why when ever we came to port to get supplies i seemed to be the one who gets to sit in the sail boat as the others go eat and get drunk and what ever. And being anchored out in an unknown harbor a ways at night made it hard to see exactly which way or where the sail boat was anchored . So When the little Motorola tx/rx call sine beeped a bunch of times. I was supposed to turn on and flash the running lights to give them an idea where to go but that didn't always work for them being drunk½the time. .. but what really worked the best was the ship spot light you know the kind 12inch ? Millions of candle power kind of ship spot light. it cut a strate beam of hot light so Brite you kud see every sea bird or fish eye or reflector for 25 miles . Lol and if you've ever been navigating a 16' inflatable and lost your night vision you must slow way down as you get it back. But hearing every one cussing after being spot lighted for 10 seconds . made me laugh every time why. Because I don't know why really. It was always funny
