Sharpie!

So the backstory:
- I intended to paint the boat this spring, but other work took longer than I thought it would and as such decided I’d rather sail than wait for a good paint window
- I race, and the boat is Federally registered so I need a name on it.
- There was confusion about my handicap so I solved it.
- I sort of wanted to “try on” the black cove stripe for when I do the proper paint job, and I love the way it looks!
So the plan for the spring is to properly repaint, and then stencil on the name rather than freehand sharpie.
For now, and especially Chester this year, we’re leaning into the jalopy vibes.

Is it a lightweight sharpie?

Heavy tip, so I left it ashore after applying 😏

What does "ship's bisait" mean?

I 100% just missed a peak in my cursive lol.
Likely going to remove and throw the vinyls on shortly - self cut so I’ll redo when I paint, but I want to at least touch up the areas missing primer as red gelcoat is coming through.

you missed a curve not a peak! thats the whole frigging problem why your "c" looks like an "i"
sincerely, someone with a signature a pharmacists cant even decipher.

Why are you writing the PHRF rating on the side of the boat?
waterloowanderer@reddit (OP)
There was confusion on my handicap.
I declared the boat at its regular rating. The handicapper gave me a rec adjustment last year because I only had a 130, and no kite.
I now have a laminate 155, and a kite. So it’s just being cheeky about the confusion.
This is what’s going on the boat for real

Great name for a sailboat

Thanks! I deliberated a long time. Boat was previously called “Salacia” which had the unfortunate side effect of sounding like “Fellatio” on radio check ins.
I put a little info site up I haven’t done much with for my “program” AKA - mostly just for fun and to help find crew lol. www.hardtackracing.ca
