Pros: Free healthcare (Apart from teeth and eyes, and medication prescriptions which are around £10). Unless you live in a dodgy area, it is generally safer when it comes to shootings etc. You can drive anywhere in the country within a day, and there is huge variability in where you can go. However, it does mean that if there is some freak extreme of weather, we tend to fall over quickly, as we're built for the mediocre. It's mostly on social media with bots driving an agenda, but you don't tend to see it very often in real-life. Generally we're all united in hating whoever the government is at any given moment, it's a national sport. Cons: Public transport does work, apart from rural areas, but train travel is extortionate and unreliable compared to just driving. Wages are relatively stagnant compared to price rises. It means that most Brits are just scraping by. It becomes a particular problem when rents/mortgages for houses eat up a huge proportion of income. Get used to football/soccer dominating your sporting life. Baseball, basketball, US football - hardly a glint of recognition here. It's much harder to set up your own physical business here. One thing I liked about America was the entrepreneurial spirit (primarily due to a lack of economic safety net I suspect), but it isn't the same here as the business rates price small start-ups out of the economy before they have begun, unless they have a lot of capital behind them. Unless you have a young child, there are little activities you can do or go to as an adult without paying a huge amount. Admissions to anything are extortionate- not Disney level, but far higher than what they are worth.
