This was found in an old car I recently bought - still full of oil!
Agreeable_Channel919@reddit
Throw it away and don't use it it's way past its life span
Luthiffer@reddit
This is realistically the right answer. Degradation of materials, etc.
But in this economy???

I remember selling this when I worked at auto zone in high school. I distinctly remember being told that it wasn't suitable for a broke down lawnmower.
unwashedRat@reddit
We were still selling that with the same packaging in 2008 when I worked at AutoZone

I bet the nerds over at https://bobistheoilguy.com would be mildly interested
tacospizzawingsbeer@reddit
Pour it on your neighbors front yard
kvior1@reddit
My 2007 Mazda loves it
ridiculusvermiculous@reddit
yeah, i wouldn't use that in my old VW. way to clean and it'd remove a lot of the functional/structural build-up and she'd leak even more
tres-huevos@reddit
Probably real pure dinosaur oil. No synthetic and no re-filtered waste oil.
MetaphysicalEngineer@reddit
What a time capsule! I'd only use it in a lawnmower now though....

Probably when they reduced the zinc in oils to stop early cats from failing. Or with new fuel injection they change the oil for less unburnt fuel potentially getting in there.

Great, that will be perfect for your (newer than 1989) car!
