Good handling, muscle car, and right hand drive ? None of this goes together... like "a big smart car with off road capabilities"

Holdens, the old iron lion will not die, and if you get a first gen commodore it would have the modernised suspension that was introduced in the WB models.
BeardedBaldWombat@reddit
Plus the 304 has arguably one of the nicest exhaust notes
Klo187@reddit
We got the 308 mostly, but even the 253 and 202 have awesome exhaust notes.

RHD BMW 840 or 850. Cramped rear seat and I would not use the word reliable. But they handle well for the weight
Bubbly-Pirate-3311@reddit
Pick three. You can't have them all: RHD Reliable 4 seats Classic Muscle car Handles well
XxJuJuOnThatBeatxX@reddit
Dude you posted this on like 10 different subs are you okay

Nothing

Right. Muscle cars all handle like crap compared to anything made since the 90s. They need a ton of suspension upgrades to hang with 30 year old junk, and a small fortune to hang with anything made in the last decade.
tupperswears@reddit
Commodore and Falcon probably the pick for handling, later the better.
Torana, Monaro, Falcon, Valiant, P76, Kingswood can all "handle well". Depending on OP's definition of "handle well".

Ah yeah, I always forget Australia had muscle cars too.
sladebonge@reddit
Lol no.

I always thought the Jensen Interceptor was a cool looking car. It has a Mopar big block V8. Couldn’t tell you anything about the handling though.
unjuseabble@reddit
Depends on your definition of "old", "muscle car" and "good handling".
Strictly speaking nothing matches that. Broadly speaking an old 7-series matches the description loosely. 30yo, "euro muscle" and good handling. Before you argue reliability the sulfur survived/warranty replaced m60 v8 engines are incredibly reliable, though you may have some electrical gremlins and whatnot, but considering the criteria the e32/38 are your best bet imo.

Rover SD1
DaveCootchie@reddit
He did say reliable. 🤣 But still Jason Camisa raved about the handling on the one he bought.

older mercedes models are actually pretty nice

I assume by old you mean chrome steel bumpers. Best off with a rhd converted u.s car, or just drive left hook in a right hook country if legal. Here in nz it's no drama and easy to get used to. The old australian stuff while very cool is just so povo spec in comparison. the interiors look and feel cheap and have fewer options, no big blocks from factory, parts are much more expensive due to the limited market and they are generally more susceptible to rust. I have owned quite a few of both countries offerings from the 60s & 70s from various manufacturers and found the u.s cars easier to own and better to drive on the whole. Handling - they are all terrible really compared to anything modern but I do rate mopar products with their torsion bars, and on the australian side later RTS holdens - HZ, WB, torana.

Get yourself whatever the JDM version of the LS400 is. Don’t know what you mean by “good handling” but it’s probably as good as you could get all things considered
cthulthure@reddit
They made RHD LS400s along with the jdm version - toyota celsior along with the crown which was the same thing in a slightly different skin, and available with a 2jz or 1uz. Hardly an old school muscle car though, perhaps the toyota century almost qualifies.
