ULPT to get back at inconsiderate gym goer

So most mornings I work out in my apartments gym. It’s small but decent - plenty of dumbbells, several benches, cables, smith machine, lat pull down, leg press, and hamstring curl machine.

And almost every morning there’s a man in maybe his 70s hogging half the equipment. He doesn’t even superset - he’ll set up a full circuit where he’ll have a bench set up under the smith machine, a couple sets of dumbbells, a yoga mat, an extra bench for dips, and sometimes the lat pull down as well. The entire circuit takes about 50min to run. On top of this, he doesn’t wipe down the benches or any of the machines after he uses them.

Working in is tough because I like to use the smith machine for squats or good mornings which means moving the bench, changing the weights, and lowering the bar between sets.

But I feel like he shouldn’t be using all that equipment at once anyway especially since he doesn’t clean any of it after he’s done.

I’ve tried to politely inform him on more than one occasion that it’s generally frowned upon/considered rude in common gym etiquette to superset or set up circuits with popular pieces of equipment like the smith machine. He nods and goes about his workout day in and day out with no change. I’ve also pointed out the wipes to him several times but he still doesn’t wipe anything down.

I thought maybe he was suffering from dementia and was forgetful but I’ve heard him in conversation and he sounds completely sound. I’ve heard him remember names and details of other gym goers and I see him walking and driving around the building all the time seemingly perfectly fine.

I’m at my limit tbh. Everytime I go into the gym and see him there with half the gym set up for his sweaty circuit I get slightly more and more annoyed.

How can I get him to stop? How can I make him see how disrespectful he’s being of other people in the shared space??
