Do I need to uninstall chipset drivers etc. when upgrading MOBO and CPU?

While you don't have to do a fresh install of your OS, I can't recommend it enough. You'll just have fewer issues.

I agree. It may still be an "old school" way of thinking, but I was in the PC repair business for over a decade, and I would never upgrade a motherboard without a fresh install. I know things are way more compatible now, but I've never regretted starting clean.

Okay question if youre still around - I am going to be upgrading from an Intel to AMD CPU as well as a mobo upgrade. By fresh install do you mean just a fresh windows 11 install or like completely wiping my SSD too? I dont mind doing a fresh windows install but Im pretty confused about where the drivers are located that people are saying should be completely wiped when changing from intel to amd…
