Very interesting! I have no idea about the performance and sound.
I just found this Rutan VariEze? on the AirVenture flight line.

Like the E-2D Hawkeye.

True!
nicspace101@reddit
Maybe it's quieter than the rest of the a-holes buzzing around.
cool-spacebeans@reddit
Lmg you live near an airport. Crazy how that works
nicspace101@reddit
I'm 10 miles from an airport, and that's not even the point.
waitingpatient@reddit
I'm much more than 10 miles from the airport and have no problems
nicspace101@reddit
Just one
codeduck@reddit
It's for cutting landing fields in wheat. This boy flies in low and fast, clears a strip, and the rest of the planes come in after
bartropolis@reddit
Rolling shutter effect pre-installed.

Isn't that a ceiling fan?

Tip vortex must be mad crisp
Hungry_Orange666@reddit
Scimitar propeller, they can take higher rpm, so you can get squeeze more speed from engine.
BrewCityChaserV2@reddit
Looks inefficient AF. Cool looking though.
OnTheLeve1@reddit
Propellers lose efficiency due to vortex formation at the tips, I bet the reversed sweep of the prop causes airflow to reverse inward toward the fuselage.
Silvernaut@reddit
Not as weird as this.
rockstuffs@reddit
Was it running when you snapped this pic? 😄
JuiceAggressive3437@reddit
Looks like a swept sabre sword shape-ish. Good way to increase solidity while safeguarding tip speed.
