It’s on Amazon for like 500$
funcentric@reddit
Seriously don't buy anything from Amazon if there isn't a site where you can buy it direct.
TRAKRACER@reddit
I disagree it’s ok to buy from Amazon or anywhere if you use a credit card; almost all credit cards have buyer protection plans meaning if you have a problem with a vendor or any purchase made with the CC and the seller does not resolve it then the CC will credit your account.
funcentric@reddit
Two problems with that:
1. Amazon's return policy is too good. They take returns all the time but resell returned products as new.
2. You still have to go through the hassle of boxing it back up and going through the whole return process. So much easier to just go with a reputable company. But each to their own. I suppose some of these no namer companies are still in business b/c they rely on people who don't want to do the research and just pick something from Amazon b/c to them, it's "easy".

Because it's not. And it doesn't always appear new. Quite often I need to return things with unsealed packaging or missing parts b/c it was a returned item in not new condition or packaging.
This topic isn't about Amazon. it's about an ebike. We know the benefits of Amazon and I'm not against them. But for buying ebikes, that's not really the ideal resource to be buying from. But yes, people get away with it and don't know what they're missing until they come back here online complaining about a bike they bought on Amazon b/c they were too lazy to research during the pre-purchase phase.

Read the reviews
Ancheer had great reviews, that's what influenced my decision versus other brands
No_Bid2072@reddit (OP)
It’s a 4.4 on Amazon so it’s good right?
funcentric@reddit
Fake reviews are everywhere so hard to say.
Rubixgoob@reddit
Not to mention the ongoing problem with the database where products get merged together so there will be reviews for entirely unrelated products skewing the score in both directions.
funcentric@reddit
Yes, yes yes! That's so annoying. When I do reviews, I repeat the product name that I'm reviewing b/c I know Amazon does scammy stuff like that.
pourme2@reddit
Not bad, but read what people are actually saying...why isn't 5 stars...problems? Breakage? Comfort?
You can make the bike more comfortable, you can add accessories, but you can't improve reliability.
The worst thing is getting ready to go for a ride and the bike won't work, or worse yet, breaking down far from home.

walmart bike so you can return it when it stops working.

Walmart Concord e-bike is decent and UL certified.

I don't think there is a good ebike for 500 . I thank you be better off buying a kit off eBay and a 48 volt battery which you can get on eBay for about 60 70 bucks and building yourself a DIY bike.. Just make sure the front fork is an aluminum if you decide to go with a front wheel kit I definitely would recommend a rear wheel kit.. you coming under budget too..

I don’t currently own a pedal bike to convert also I’m not good with stuff like that
funcentric@reddit
That's respectable that you admit that. Not everyone should be building their own bikes and often times they're not really cheaper if you're using quality components. Have you considered an escooter instead of an ebike? Would that work for you? You get much better value out of an escooter than an ebike. Easier to transport and store too. Replacing tubes also a ton easier.

There’s many videos on how to build one yourself.

I loved my Ancheer. Good bike and dirt cheap.

It goes 22 and it’s only like 20$ cheaper than a q life
