Gen X Challenge: grow old without acting like Boomers, being in denial about aging, and doing this to our faces. Anyone in?

I didn't spend my life hiding from the sun for nothing. I've aged like a like a fine, top-shelf koumiss.
Petulant-Bidet@reddit (OP)
wtf is a koumiss, fellow gothling?
Zen_Hydra@reddit
It's a central Asian libation made from fermented mares milk.
It's...a bit of an acquired taste to be sure.
Petulant-Bidet@reddit (OP)
Oooh. Does it mix well with absinthe? How about chartreuse?
Zen_Hydra@reddit
I've had it a few times, but it's not easy to find in North America. I live in a pretty large city, and know of a single Pan-Asian supermarket that sells it. I've only ever had it by the individual can/bottle, and never mixed it with anything other than ice (it's traditionally served cold).
It's not a cultural thing for me. I just love throwing new (to me) foods and beverages into my great gaping gob. Life's too short to play it safe. I also enjoy things like natto, balut, surströmming, and durian.
As for absinthe as a mixer for kumis/airbag, that feels like about a 50/50 chance of being terrible or delicious. I've made my own absinthe before, but my first batch was equally both a blessing and curse. That first distillate practically glowed green, or imagine the reagent from Re-Animator (1985). It was the most bitter substance I have ever put in my mouth (I ran to the kitchen sink and used the sprayer on my tongue to try remove as much of the flavor as possible). After that my brother and I would use our experience of having already tasted it, we would offer shots of it to friends and family after we drank a shot ourselves (while we did our best to act like it didn't taste like a nightmare). It was worth tasting that concentrated wormwood concoction again just to see the reactions of the uninitiated people's blindsided faces. After that prototype batch I was able to adjust the bitterness down to the levels you find in commercial absinthe, but we kept the remains of the OG "super absinthe" in a fine crystal decanter featured prominently in my home bar.

All of me will be fully biodegradable when I die.

Not me, I'm leaving a bunch of titanium behind.
Specialist-Invite-30@reddit
Oh yeah, I’m part bionic now.
I actually see a medically necessary upper bleph surgery in my future. I’ve always had hooded eyes but the older I get, the lower the lids get. I smear my mascara all the time and I think eventually my upper eyelids will end up around my cheeks.
Nor have I ruled out getting my tits done, but I’m not putting a bunch of shit in my face.
Petulant-Bidet@reddit (OP)
Oh good point about the eyelids. my mom had to get that done, and Medicare didn't want to cover it, calling it cosmetic. She was like, dude, I cannot see! So they did pay for it. My mom's badass like that.
Specialist-Invite-30@reddit
I’ve never in my life been able to do smoky eye makeup.
madlyhattering@reddit
I want a reduction, and the included lift would be a huge plus in my mind!
Specialist-Invite-30@reddit
I had a reduction in ‘96 and it was the single best thing I ever did for myself.
But that was 30 years ago. The girls need a boost.
Still not injecting a bunch of shit in my face.
BeYeCursed100Fold@reddit
I know a cyborg (computer/pacemaker/app keeps him alive). I call him Eddie, he's an Iron Maiden fan.
nevadapirate@reddit
Bummer. But I guess life hasnt been as boring as mine.
DorianGre@reddit
I’m getting a titanium hip in a few months. Sorry to ruin the fun here at happy happy death camp.
FeralBanshee@reddit
Plastic surgery doesn’t always involve « plastic » my friend 😆
nevadapirate@reddit
I know that. It was meant to be more metaphorical.
Ladymistery@reddit
Not me.
I'm leaving titanium behind
OoklaTheMok1994@reddit
I was balding in my early 20s. Shaved it all off.
Wife was showing gray hairs in her late 20s. I encouraged her to not color it and let it gray naturally. She's absolutely beautiful.
TomohikoAmada@reddit
lol now we all know why you're so angry.
Abyssal_Mermaid@reddit
I’ll just continue my vampire-like existence and avoid sunlight, thanks
Petulant-Bidet@reddit (OP)
Aw man, I did that for years but now live The Outdoor Lifestyle. Guess I am signing up for wrinkles! (I still go to Bauhaus and Love & Rockets and Nick Cave shows, though. So far no one has kicked me out.)
Abyssal_Mermaid@reddit
You’re probably doing ok and way less wrinkled than those dudes
Petulant-Bidet@reddit (OP)
I know one of those guys and he looks freakishly the same as 35 years ago. Hey maybe he's getting Botox!
hopelesscaribou@reddit
I'm good with me, but if I had money to burn I might get a wee eyelift, not gonna lie. My tattoos are older than all my coworkers, still love em, though they too have spread.
I was in denial about aging until menopause hit me like a train. No one warned us how bad it could be. There's a generation of Gen-X gals about to find out that there is alot of misinformation, or worse, almost no information on menopause. Doctors almost learn nothing of it in medical school either. It affects every part of your body, from your brain, joints, muscles, bones, privates, along with the flashes, insomnia, mood swings, body changes and rapid aging.
Hrt saved me after a two year roller coaster, I finally feel normal again. Doctors will literally just try to prescribe you pain killers and anti depressants instead of addressing the root of the problem, lack of estrogen/progesterone and sometimes testosterone.
Petulant-Bidet@reddit (OP)
this is what r/menopause is for! and r/perimenopause . and honestly, wtf would we do without reddit?
Intelligent_Part101@reddit
But menopause is "normal". Therefore we don't treat it. Know what else is "normal" if untreated? Losing your teeth.
robot_pirate@reddit
I read that the ultra wealthy aren't shooting for natural at all anymore. They want it to be over the top, so it's clear they have "fuck you" levels of money. It's a very specific aesthetic.
sixteenHandles@reddit
I always thought the most expensive work was subtle. Maybe that’s just wishful thinking.
Petulant-Bidet@reddit (OP)
Maybe it used to be that way? But now the "medi-spa look" and various procedures are less about looking young or pretty, more about -- I guess looking like you had some work done? Hm.
maddog2271@reddit
I hadn’t thought of this specifically but on a weird level that explanation makes a lot of sense. not “logical decision” sense but sense in the way that our money-worshipping culture encourages lording it over everyone else. explains Lauren Sanchez Bezos, as an example.
robot_pirate@reddit
She has achieved the "uncanny valley" effect.
gigantischemeteor@reddit
What they’ll never understand is that only their specific niche subset of rich will ever recognize them as that. Everyone else sees that they’re just delusional enough to have spent that much money to look that… gauche. It’s in-crowd signaling, but it fails completely as ”fuck you” signaling to everyone else.
They’re the literal personification of lemmings. They lack the practicality of, say, sewing jewels into the hems of their garments to achieve stored value. Instead, what they’re doing to their faces can only ever be sunk costs. And then they have to devote a certain percentage of mental bandwidth to maintaining ongoing self-delusion in order to stay in denial about how unnatural they actually appear to others. That’s taxing in a way that all their great fortunes can never adequately fund.
On the other hand, if what they’re trying to do is permanently identify themselves in advance of a great turning that leads to an “eat the rich” moment, in that regard they are guaranteeing their own success. Far be it from anyone else to try to stand in their way.

Petulant-Bidet@reddit (OP)
Ugh. I'd rather have a Prada bag tattooed on my face.
Grunt_In_A_Can@reddit
Never had a tattoo and at 57 have 0 desire for any surgery let alone plastic surgery.
LadyNiko@reddit
I had to have plastic surgery. Still haven't worked up the courage to get the tattoos to finish off what my plastic surgeon made. Finding out that you're a BRCA-1 mutant is ever so much fun! 🙄
becuzofgrace@reddit
BRCA1+ here also, along with pancreatic cancer survivor. I had my prophylactic surgery 3 years ago.
Get the tattoos! They look amazing. Surprisingly not very painful, just a few shooting pains. My artist had great numbing cream she used before and during to eliminate the pain.
SeaweedClean5087@reddit
You can survive pancreatic cancer? My ex and mother of my daughter has it but it’s moved to her liver and she doesn’t have long to go. I always assumed that pancreatic cancer was a death sentence.
LlamaDrama007@reddit
That's usually because by the time it's symptomatic enough to be found it's in the end stages. There have to be times when it's found incidentally.
becuzofgrace@reddit
Yes! Mine was found incidentally. It was stage 2 at the time. I had symptoms, but ignored them because they were very mild. :(
PSA: If you’re having stomach pain after every meal….go to the doctor! If you’re having “kidney stone” pain without it increasing, go to the doctor!
Petulant-Bidet@reddit (OP)
You are definitely scaring me.
becuzofgrace@reddit
I’m so sorry about your daughter’s mother. Mine was an incidental finding so I’m one of the very few lucky ones to survive.
emilythequeen1@reddit
Yes the tats are gorgeously done. If you take pics of your nips before they can reproduce them beautifully.
becuzofgrace@reddit
This is exactly what my artist did. :)
LadyNiko@reddit
I have the name of the best gal here in STL who does this work. I just haven’t found the courage/time/motivation to get it done. I have too many concerts to see, conventions to go to! 😄
becuzofgrace@reddit
They only take an hour. I had two sessions, the 2nd was a touch up. My artist is amazing also. Do it! They’re so pretty! And won’t look like Barbie boobies anymore :)
Extension_Case3722@reddit
I went to a tattoo artist that does 3d nipples. Made such a huge difference!
strait_lines@reddit
All those old guys who’d let us drink with them at the vfw had horrible looking tattoos from skin stretching and fading. After seeing that, I never had a desire to get one.
YouMustBeJoking888@reddit
Hahahaha... right there with you at the VFW and those awful tattoos.
strait_lines@reddit
Wasn’t a member, just in my late teens. If you went with your friend’s grandpa, or went to some event where someone rented the hall, those guys were more than willing to get you a beer or something stronger, and talk about how things used to be. I mostly remember those guys knew some strong drinks.
Random0s2oh@reddit
Both of mine are on my feet. I color my hair and do my nails, but no plastic surgery. I am planning to have my nose fixed after breaking it in a fall. No changes, though.
Steiney1@reddit
47 no tats, i did have to get a nose surgery, but it was because i broke it as a kid, and my Boomer parents never took me to a doctor, so it caused problems later in life
Routine-Improvement9@reddit
55, no tats. The only plastic surgery I'd consider is to fix a droopy eyelid that's affecting my field of vision. I was approved for it, but my husband got laid off before I could have it done and now we have garbage insurance.
Sorry your folks didn't take care of your nose.
robot_pirate@reddit
Same here! But I do limit alcohol and take a shit ton of supplements. My diet could be better, but ain't nobody got time for that.
Petulant-Bidet@reddit (OP)
Nobody's gonna peel the tats off me -- but they're also not going to convince me that my self-worth lies in paying people to mess with my face.
Ok-Editor1747@reddit
What’s that….. I’m 54 and fine with myself. It took me 45 years to get there. I’m not going back
Test4Echooo@reddit
The money that would go to plastic surgery would get you a Hawaiian vacation for at least a couple of weeks; how is that even a choice lol.
Festering-Fecal@reddit
That's just selfish. All the extra money goes to my wife and kid.
Hell I don't even want a funeral just throw my ass on curb because end of life treatment and funerals will molest your savings.
Either_Pangolin531@reddit
Already got my hole dug out in the woods.. first really bad cough I'm grabbing my blanket and hitting the old dusty trail.
Petulant-Bidet@reddit (OP)
Family cemetery out in the woods, that's what my parents started and that's where I plan to land.
Festering-Fecal@reddit
From what I understand in some states if you get buried on your property you're family avoids some taxes or something like that.
NotYetReadyToRetire@reddit
I told my wife to just get some of the guys from the neighborhood to toss me in the dumpster at Kroger. I won't care!
Festering-Fecal@reddit
Technically illegal but if you have disability or anything they could hide your body and collect it.
I joked with my wife so this for me and if you get looked at run to Cuba
AlexisAsgard@reddit
Because the vacation is temporary and you'll have forgotten the details in a year, but some cosmetic surgery could make you feel better about yourself for the next 20 years.
she_slithers_slyly@reddit
Maybe with enough plastic surgery they figure someone will take them to Hawaii?
DorianGre@reddit
You a get a Thailand vacation with all the procedures near free.
nutmegtell@reddit
57 and got idgaf.exe installed after menopause.
I don’t know a single woman doing that to their face. We are all pretty happy overall.
DefiantFrankCostanza@reddit
Lol not where I live. Holy shit.
madlyhattering@reddit
I honestly can’t be bothered to color my hair. Not much gray yet, but I’m getting some cool little sparkly highlights. I’m hoping I get a cool streak of silver/gray like my grandma!
pullmyfinger222@reddit
Lucky you. My mother went full gray by 30, but my father died at 58 with a head full of jet black hair without a single gray. Unfortunately, in the hair department, I inherited my mother's genes. 🤷🏻♂️

timberwolf0122@reddit
People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect. But actually, from a nonlinear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly, timey wimey stuff.

I had my day in the sun. It’s just to exhausting now
Fit-Engineering-2789@reddit
Nope. I have thought about botox or fillers from time to time, but I have seen too many horror stories. Maybe the show I watched was called Botched? Also, I've watched the people on the 90 Day Fiance series of shows absolutely ruin themselves with plastic surgery and fillers. I'll just keep doing my skincare stuff for now and hope for the best.
FeralBanshee@reddit
I love that show! But guess what - most of the people on that show go to cheap surgeons overseas or in Mexico, or they overdo things. Botox and fillers are reversible and also if you find a good practitioner there’s really no issues, especially with Botox. Plus it wears off in 3-4 months.
Intelligent_Part101@reddit
Fillers are not as easily reversible as they used to tell people. Not harmless.
FeralBanshee@reddit
You can dissolve filler.
Intelligent_Part101@reddit
Filler can migrate and it can form granulomas in the facial tissue.
EvenSkanksSayThanks@reddit
a gen x challenge i would rather see is stop criticizing women’s appearance
Toffeemanstan@reddit
Its hard not to when you see so many ruining their appearance with unnecessary and quite often, badly done surgeries.
EvenSkanksSayThanks@reddit
well that pic wasn’t of one of those faces so idk what to tell you. she’s just a regular middle aged woman in an unflattering pic. even models take hundreds of pics to get that one good one
Speech-Language@reddit
I really don't get why people trip on how someone else wants to look. Weird judgemental thing about aesthetic surgery. Your body to do as you like.
EvenSkanksSayThanks@reddit
also she doesn’t even appear to have any filler in that pic. if she had some conservative high quality filler, OP would think she looks so youthful and natural. it’s so stupid people don’t even know what they’re looking at anymore
Juicy-Lemon@reddit
Beyond criticizing, just stop commenting on women’s appearances at all! And men’s, and all the NB, and trans people . . . EVERYBODY
EvenSkanksSayThanks@reddit

yosoyfatass@reddit
Elizabeth Hurley actually looks amazing when not viewed in unflattering closeup. Also I would kill to have her body at any age!
AdultinginCali@reddit
I'm not mad at boomer women. Many of these women were serving breakfast in full-face makeup, in heels and a dress.
yosoyfatass@reddit
Elizabeth Hurley is gen x. This is, of course, a very unflattering closeup, but she actually looks great, not like a blow up doll/plastic surgery disaster & her body is astonishing.
SparkyValentine@reddit
Not any of the moms I knew. They were searching for matches while digging in their housecoat pocket for the Viceroys while yelling that powdered milk was just FINE on cornflakes.
LlamaDrama007@reddit
Wait, you guys were getting breakfast?
(I jest but, yeah, Friday nights we were 'allowed' (instructed, but made to seem like a treat) to put a can of fizzy drink and a packet of crisps under our bed to have ready for breakfast/watch Sesame street on Saturday morning whilst mum slept through her hang over so... xD)
Petulant-Bidet@reddit (OP)
Yeah! Somewhere in here I commented that I know a lot of great Boomer women - activists, charitable go-getters. They don't "get work" done on their faces, though.
Mottinthesouth@reddit
No unnecessary surgeries for me. I think people look worse off after trying to make themselves look younger anyway. Like every time! Fake is just fake.
Nafaustu@reddit
Unless i'm eldergothing, makeup can eat my whole arse :) And I look sick as hell with grey hair.
Mindless-Employment@reddit
Meh. Doesn't bother me if people want to get a lil this and that done. It's understandable, especially with the rampant ageism in hiring that we talk about all the time here. When the work is done well, no one can tell anything has been done. When it isn't not, you end up looking like the new Mrs. Bezos.
Also, getting your picture taken was a rare thing even just 25 years ago. Now, depending on your lifestyle and job, you can end up in photos or video a lot, whether you want/mean to or not. It's pretty disturbing to see a face that you don't even recognize.
I was planning to get my 11 lines Botoxed but then I got laid off. They aren't even 11 at this point, more like a Roman numeral 30. I think I have a naturally frown-y face and decades of that have caused me to look genuinely angry all the time now. Absolutely hate it.
TapeFlip187@reddit
I got the '11s' done years ago bc I thought I was scaring my young son and it ended up completely eliminating my tension headaches haha. Ive recommended it to everyone considering it. I couldn't believe the relief I felt from pain I didn't even realize was constant.
TheYearOfThe_Rat@reddit
Dudeo, most people do that for sexual reasons, and not for the reasons of aging.
maddog2271@reddit
GenX dude here age 50 and one of the things like about my wife (51) is that she never did tattoos and she never started on this weird surgery stuff. tats are of course a lifestyle decision and I don’t judge, but I am definitely happy my wife never saw a need to start all this filler/botox stuff. It turns people into the walking dead.

Also recommend not turning up our nose at new things. Including music.
Although I wish to avoid sounding sexist, it is very common for men especially to begin to isolate themselves after a certain age. I saw it with the boomers and I’m beginning to see it with us. I see it far less with my wife and her friends.
Keeping yourself socially active, keeps a younger mentality and stops you from becoming the “grumpy old person”
MooseBlazer@reddit
I know someone who did that. I didn’t see her for two years and then didn’t even recognize her.
A slight boob tune up is one thing, but when they turn into balloons when everything else is sagging, or they do this to their face?…..complete total turn off .
Relevant-Cover3308@reddit
Someone i know in her late 50's has undergone bariatric surgery. She lost the weight and needed excess skin removed as well as lymphoedema in her legs. She's had 2 surgeries so far. The first one, she came out ok, but it took her ages to get over it all. The 2nd surgery nearly killed her.
She's going back for a 3rd surgery!!!

I'm with you; Fekk these No-plastic people!
Plastic makes me glad to be alive now!
FeralBanshee@reddit
It’s funny cuz the only people who whine about this sort of thing use BAD work as examples. They don’t even KNOW what good work looks like and that’s the point - when done right, you can’t tell. That’s the goal. Some people overdo it on purpose, they like looking fake, or they’re delusional. Sometimes both 😂
Affectionate-Cap-918@reddit
People can tell.
FeralBanshee@reddit
Nope. Not if it’s done right and subtly. This photo is the opposite of subtle.
Affectionate-Cap-918@reddit
I’m not talking about the photo. Just people. Real people. We can tell, trust me.
FeralBanshee@reddit
Sure. Literally no one has ever guessed I have stuff done, but okay.
charlesthedrummer@reddit
Not always. I know folks where you can’t even tell. Fuck “aging gracefully” Fight it however you can, and for as long as you can.
101violations@reddit
Thank you! Cosmetic surgery isn't something I want to spend my money on as I age. I just have different savings and spending goals. But if someone else does, I'll be rooting for a job well done.
People act like it's some freaking badge of honor to not have cosmetic procedures. The irony is that is such a freaking boomer position to take. 🤣
FeralBanshee@reddit
I originally got some Botox and under eye filler cuz I was sick of people thinking I was mad or tired. It softened my face so much it was AMAZING. No one ever asks me randomly if I’m mad anymore and i got that asked most of my life (resting bitch face…)
101violations@reddit
So glad you got the results you wanted!! I considered botox for my migraines but the number of needle sticks was the deciding no factor for me 😅

Spot on!
Petulant-Bidet@reddit (OP)
Uhh, did anyone tell you what to do?
Guilty-Pen1152@reddit
I don’t see many boomers or genx who are obsessed with plastic surgery as much as younger generations. Yeah there’s definitely actors in those generations that went crazy overboard, but my niece who’s only 34 has completely embraced plastic surgery for her chin, bucal fat (or whatever that sculpt my face skinner)’surgery, Botox, lip plumpers, and most recently a Brazilian butt lift. It’s frightening at this point bc I know she’ll just do more and more plastic surgery as she ages.
AntheaBrainhooke@reddit

There’s a difference between “mutilation” and “minor fixes” though. It’s not a binary situation. And, it’s not someone else’s standards, rather, it’s about liking your own appearance.

Don't think any actual boomer does this to themselves.
The pic looks GenX more than my parents. Sadly morons are born in all generations so it wont skip us or any other gen looking for vanity.
mischievous_misfit13@reddit
I got my lip repierced last week…that’s my surgery preference to stay young. Nose piercing up next!
Magari22@reddit
This just looks like bad makeup and lip injections to me. The main reason why I'll never do anything to my face is that as I age I am beginning to see my mother coming back to me in my own face. She passed away many years ago and I miss her every day and seeing parts of her face looking back at me in the mirror is immensely comforting to me.
Tojuro@reddit
I know ladies and men that use Botox and they aren't in denial about age, it just makes them feel better and that's good enough reason imo.
I don't use botox and have never had "aesthetic" surgery but I'm open to surgery some day for one reason... career preservation. I'll do my eyelids or neck if it makes me look a little younger. It's not vanity, it's greed. So far I haven't had to, thankfully.
Complete-Finding-712@reddit
I'd rather look like a grandma when I'm old than try to look half my age. Ain't no plastic surgery or cosmetic procedure touching my face, barring some sort of disfiguring injury in need of repair. I think I'll be happy to be grey whenever my hair wants to be, too.

I just don’t think we give a crap. I feel like we watch the both earlier and later gens like Jane Goodall, “that one just injected stuff in its lips, and this one is taking 300 selfies on vacation, but only 20 of the spot they visit. Cool, I’ll be over here minding my business and lookin old… cause I’m old”
Easy_Ambassador7877@reddit
No way would I get cosmetic surgery outside of needing it because I was injured or something. But other than that my wrinkles are mine and I’m not vain enough to try to look 30 years younger. The face posted obviously doesn’t look like a 20 something no matter how much Botox and fillers she gets. That would be the opposite of aging gracefully.
OldManThumbs@reddit

What’s wrong with aging normally?
charlesthedrummer@reddit
Nothing, if that’s what you want. If you want to stave it off for another decade, or so, nothing wrong with that either. It’s a personal choice.

Kinda looks sort of like Elizabeth Hurley, but very distorted, exaggerated, imbalanced. Thanks BTW for saying her name. I couldn't remember it.
Petulant-Bidet@reddit (OP)
The latter, I think.

Aubrey O'Day is 41. She's a millennial. 😬
Magari22@reddit
A lot of this is really bad makeup and lip injections but I'm all for people doing what they want. I will never do anything to my face and part of that is because my sweet mother passed away suddenly when I was 30 and as I get older and look in the mirror I see her face in my own and it has brought a little bit of her back to me and I find that immensely comforting. I think I look okay, I don't look young but I look healthy. Honestly I feel like I'm just passing through this world it's not my permanent home so I'm just going to try to do my best and not obsess over my changing appearance.

Totally agree. If you CAN slow the appearance of aging, absolutely. Delay it as long as possible. It’ll catch up eventually—there’s no stopping that, but go down fighting!

No way I'd spend money on a pointless, doomed to fail effort to deny how old I am. You aren't fooling anyone, not even yourself.
Also, oddly, I started getting way more attention from women when I hit 50 than I ever did when I was younger. I'm happily married so it didn't amount to anything. It's slacking off now but still more than in my 40's.

I can't wait. I've got the senile acting part down.
101violations@reddit
No sense in shaming people that choose to do things that feel right to them. There is no manual to how to age. No right or wrong.
We deal with enough shit now we have to adhere to an standard for how to age? If it makes them feel better and more confident in their skin then more power to them. It's not my body and not my business.
You know how you don't act like a boomer? Step 1. Stop fucking judging people on what they do with their body. Step 2. Mind your own damn business in general.

Honestly this photo looks more like too much makeup to me than too much surgery or work. She has sunken cheeks and hollows, lines around her eyes, and if she does have lip filler it actually looks like not much, it’s the lip liner around her lips and the glossiness that make them look weird. She has WAY too much concealer on etc etc. If she had surgery or filler she wouldn’t have nasaolabial folds and her cheeks and under eyes would be plump and she’d have "pillow face." This is also a full zoom-in, probably flash lighting, and can’t see her forehead, chin, or anything.

I take good care of my skin and keep it well hydrated and use vitamin C serum to brighten and lighten age discolorations… but that’s the extent of my anti-aging. I even quit coloring my hair and went fully gray about 6 months ago. It’s quite freeing.
Thick-Fly-5727@reddit
I thought about surgery when I was younger, but it was more invasive than I thought, so I chucked the idea. I've had 1 shot of botox between the eyes once and decided it was too expensive for very little payoff.
I've since decided to age naturally because people who get fillers all look the same eventually. My mom is 82 and is cute as a button. I'm just going to hope for the best!
