Well it finally happened, I've become a cargo shorts, flip flops, and band t-shirt guy.

Not going to lie, it's quite comfy.
I think my wife is sort of ok with it.
trUth_b0mbs@reddit
nothing wrong with comfort over fashion.
Just-Ice3916@reddit
Good! Are we not way too fucking old to give even a percentage of a minuscule fraction of a shit what other people think about things like this, too? You enjoy!
Away_Bench7003@reddit
I used to get all fancied up when I was younger and living in Boston. I just moved from Florida so I was completely clueless. Suede boots slushing around the city in a snowstorm? Seems like a smart idea! Nothing like a heeled suede boot drenched in slush on a cobblestone street in Jan with no gloves on. Your outfit is fine, bonus points for the Lou Reed shirt.
Ok_Perception1131@reddit
I’ve become a sweatpants woman.
I used to be a fashionista. Now my body hurts, I just want to be comfortable.
StillC5sdad@reddit
Welcome to the party pal
Neat_Potato3@reddit
I’ve been that guy since I was 17.
marshallkrich@reddit
15.... just don't have a flannel with it anymore.
StraightBudget8799@reddit
Need one! Winter plumage!
carlivar@reddit
Why not? Still got my forest green Eddie Bauer plaid flannel from 94
XXxxChuckxxXX@reddit
That’s a win that it still fits
marshallkrich@reddit
Because im in Georgia now, and it's 500 degrees.
carlivar@reddit
Good reason. SoCal here and 70's all month.
marshallkrich@reddit
I use to live in Nj/Philly and made sense then.
SeaweedClean5087@reddit
Your dog is a rock and roll animal.
Britpop_Shoegazer@reddit
That is my husband. Usually a Ramones T-shirt.
kiwiboyus@reddit
I'll wear cargo shorts over having to wear a bum-bag. Are Men not allowed to have more stuff than fits in two pockets?
iamjustsyd@reddit
Somewhere in the late 90s we all moved on from making a statement to being comfortable. We didn't sell out, we cashed in.
BadEarly9278@reddit
As I read this I look down at myself.
Flip flops.
Brown cargo shorts with a few paint stains.
Then my favorite soda branded t-shirt that has some holes in it (18 year old favorite shirt).
If it matters, also microfiber boxer briefs, Hanes in black.
I guess yall are my peeps. What up B?
beaujolais98@reddit
Comfort rules, my man.
raleel@reddit
Just need more band shirts. Just got an additional one tonight.
maddog2271@reddit
I am that guy on summer weekends when it’s casual all the way. I am not that guy other times. I like deciding what guy to be based on social context.
Sunhammer01@reddit
You are missing out on Hawaiian shirts and linen shirts.
DaughterOLilith@reddit
Hawaiian shirts, cargo shorts and sandals is the summer uniform for most of the dudes at my church! 🤣
COVFEFE-4U@reddit
A fellow adventurer.
SushiGradePanda@reddit
Currently wearing a Hawaiian shirt.
Jonesy1966@reddit
I found myself in the same situation over the weekend! Incidentally, the band t-shirt was my original Cocteau Twins tee from the Heaven or Las Vegas tour
40wiggles@reddit
Jealous
MyTakeOnFalafels@reddit
I'm a 49 year old straight woman, and I just started dressing like this last summer. I couldn't be more comfortable. I've also added comic book t-shirts to the look.
Dramatic-Secret937@reddit
Get a pair of crocs to fully feel it
tooful@reddit
I just ordered my first pair of Birkenstocks.
JuliusSeizuresalad@reddit
Become? I’ve been living it for years
FrequentEmphasis2109@reddit
Need some black new balances and white socks too
Cautious_Buffalo6563@reddit
Or vice-versa
vette500@reddit
Rocking, black compression socks and 608's.
Cautious_Buffalo6563@reddit
FrequentEmphasis2109@reddit
You’re right, that’s even better and something I can strive for
Cautious_Buffalo6563@reddit
Aroundapole@reddit
What took you so long?
Due-World4235@reddit
Nothing wrong with band t-shirts, but the rest gotta go asap
mcache01@reddit
You’ll be fine .. just don’t wear crocs
Status_Silver_5114@reddit
The lesbians welcome you to the club.
nelgallan@reddit
He said flips, not birks 😀
Status_Silver_5114@reddit
We haven’t worn birks since the 80s. The teenagers have recently reclaimed the birks anyway. Oofahs or tevas thanks very much.
nelgallan@reddit
I'll never give up my tevas. I'll just keep switching stereotypes until I'm buried in them.
MountainCry9194@reddit
I always thought Tevas were boomer gear (just add socks).
life-is-thunder@reddit
LOL! Yeah. I've been dressing like this for years.
Natural_King2704@reddit
I never stopped being that guy. Just add the puka shell necklace
MyriVerse2@reddit
You're a few decades late on that.
Abranda44@reddit
I’ve been there since 1995 (girl version). Leggings, band t-shirt/tank top, birks and flannel. Comfy, everything goes with everything else, and the tees are great convo starters 🤷♀️.
One of these days I’ll grow up, but not today.
QuesoChef@reddit
Same. But my ultimate comfort is sweats. Non-banded ankles.
Abranda44@reddit
Yesss!!
discussatron@reddit
Always have been.
/looks down
'Cept today it's a Ford musclecars shirt.
yoursweetbaboo@reddit
COVFEFE-4U@reddit
Meh. Old, married, and not trying to impress anyone. Comfort above all else.
QuesoChef@reddit
Meh. Old, unmarried, and not trying to impress anyone. Comfort above all else.
bozoskeleton@reddit (OP)
I agree. I'm usually in dark jeans, some nice boots, but even though I live in what's supposed to be cool (upper peninsula of Michigan), it's just so damn humid and hot right now, I gave up.
Poultrygeist74@reddit
Some of our lives are a shipwreck
WeathermanOnTheTown@reddit
They're often uninteresting people.
some_one_234@reddit
What were you before? 3 piece suit guy?
teamdogemama@reddit
Better than basketball shorts.
S4Guy2k@reddit
Secret time… I’ve always been one…
tikivic@reddit
DGAFometer finally correctly calibrated.
Sensitive_Note1139@reddit
Don't wear socks, striped shirts with the outfit or the shorts pulled up to your pecs and you're fine. Comfy clothes are the thing these days.
funktopus@reddit
One of us! One of us!
prufrockmitty@reddit
Welcome. Nice multi-tool.
bozoskeleton@reddit (OP)
You can pry my Leatherman from my cold dead hands.
phironuthi@reddit
🧟♂️ one of us
IdubdubI@reddit
Carpenter shorts; Johnny Cash T, and Birks for me ATM
duncanofnazareth@reddit
Hey it's better than beige dress shorts, loafers and a tucked in golf shirt any day.
nixtarx@reddit
Just now?
yodamastertampa@reddit
I dont wear cargos anymore but wear board shorts, flip flops, and t shirts. Also, live in Florida. I get these board shorts that are half swimming trunks half nice shorts. Work out well because I can just jump in my pool if I get hot.
CrumblinEmpire@reddit
Cargo shorts are utilitarian. What kind of person doesn’t want more pockets?
Consistent-Wolf-4875@reddit
Lol.... that's what I'm wearing right now, except it's sport sandals instead of flip flops
tangodelta22@reddit
Arch support ftw!
signguy989@reddit
I stopped wearing shoes all together during the summer after Kurt died.
ohgreatitsjosh@reddit
Bro, that's been the uniform for like 20 years. You're gonna love all those extra pockets.
AnchorScud@reddit
nice work.
mattwb72@reddit
It is kind of our uniform it turns out.
DoomOfChaos@reddit
Hate flip flops, but wear other sandals and I admit to not wearing cargo shorts for several years now 😂
But I'm out and about with band shirts!!
fshannon3@reddit
Same, except not necessarily band t-shirts. Car, destination, plain...all options for me for t-shirts.
Been wearing the "purse shorts" (what my wife calls them) for years as well as the Skechers flip flops.
Every. Summer.
Bring it on.
One-Pangolin-3167@reddit
No, someone that finally just wants to be comfortable and couldn't give a fuck!

lambchopsandkreplach@reddit
Trust me, there are many other worse guys you could be. Congrats on being one of the good ones!
AdultinginCali@reddit
I love cargo pants and linen pants. It's all about the comfy.
KLLR_ROBOT@reddit
Same, minus the band shirts. Never been a thing for me
Rekrapfig@reddit
PizzaWhole9323@reddit
I have never not been that guy. But welcome to the club!
TakeMeToThePielot@reddit
I do lawn work in shorts and black socks pulled up high. It’s fine…
Angelicfyre@reddit
I don't have a problem with that look. I don't understand the hate. There are plenty of clothes to wear for other occasions. Nothing wrong with comfort. I like it.
ThatDudeKdoc13@reddit
About time. Huzzah!
wooksquatch@reddit
Welcome and congrats.
