Rep. Clyde is offering a GOA-backed amendment to insert suppressor & short-barrel firearm NFA tax repeal into H.R. 1 at the House Rules Committee.
If passed, the bill would bounce back to the Senate, which could force a firing/overruling of the Parliamentarian.

Just remember, this is voting time! When your Reps and Senators didn’t vote or voice their concern for our 2A rights, then support primaries them. There is only action when you fire them. Remember this and don’t forget when it comes time to vote!

$200 less for a SBR is a cold comfort when you’re triggering a recession…

How if there's almost no inflation?
RegalArt1@reddit
Inflation hasn’t lowered, the U.S. dollar’s value dropped by 10% in the last 6 months alone, the price of electricity is about to jump (the bill puts additional taxes on renewables) and the bill increases the deficit even more. I’m all for reining in the NFA but this is putting a cherry atop a pile of crap and calling it a sundae

Inflation hasn't lowered but I'm paying less for gas and groceries. Mmkay
IrkinSkoodge@reddit
How are you paying less? Im paying way more for groceries since covid.
HotTamaleOllie@reddit
since covid — you do realize prices are never going back down. But we can slow down inflation which is exactly what Trump is doing.
IrkinSkoodge@reddit
We'll hopefully he does, but saying yall are paying less for groceries is also a joke. Both can be true.
HotTamaleOllie@reddit
Yes, grocery prices are lower now than under Biden. Just look at the price of eggs. What they fuck are you on?
IrkinSkoodge@reddit
Eggs? You think the price of eggs was because of inflation? What are you on? Didn't know about the bird flu?
Calm_Relation7993@reddit
…….. your paying less? Are you sure? I had to get some allergy pills, deodorant, toothpaste, cheap bic razors a few weeks ago. Should have been a $25-$30 trip at maximum. Fucking cost $87 dollars.
Groceries I only get once a month and no matter how you try to save money it’s still like $130. For one person. And I’m not exactly buying steak.
Gas is $5 to $7 a gallon where I was driving for work last week in Nevada……………. In cities it can get down to $4.

"These two random indicators I picked out because my favorite propaganda told me to are looking good therefore the entirety of the hyper-complex, international economic structure is functioning correctly"
RegalArt1@reddit
News flash, inflation isn’t the only measure of an economy’s health. Generally markets want certainty, which is why alarm bells start ringing when you start pulling the dumb shit this administration is trying
hindsighthaiku@reddit
oh simple, simple child...
boogiedownbronxite@reddit (OP)
2.4 percent. Google's your friend
HotTamaleOllie@reddit
I don’t know what the fuck they’re talking about. Everything you’ve said so far is factual.
k1ckstand@reddit
I hope you’re kidding…
boogiedownbronxite@reddit (OP)
We're at 2.4 percent. That's the lowest it's been in some years. Google is your friend.
Broke_Bak_Jak@reddit
Much like the safe hearing act, I don’t see it ever happening. And if it somehow does, I don’t see it not biting us on the ass a couple years down the line. Just another meatless bone being tossed out to distract/placate us.Â
boogiedownbronxite@reddit (OP)
Where did I imply that it'll pass?
boogiedownbronxite@reddit (OP)
Y'all need to chill. I'm not claiming in any way that this will pass. I'm just giving an update. Sheesh
illestdomer2005@reddit
That’s my rep! His line is busy and then disconnects, but I love him for it!
thor561@reddit
Does anyone seriously expect the House to take up this amendment and actually vote it through? Way too many spineless Republicans and it's not like you're going to get any Dems crossing over for this, their messaging is that this is dangerous behavior by Republicans trying to unleash weapons so deadly they had to be regulated special by Congress.
As much as I would love to see short barreled stuff and suppressors come off the NFA, I don't think it's happening, and if we do somehow get it through with the $0 tax, that puts us on very shaky ground for the next time Dems are in control unless someone is able to bring a good enough challenge before the SC.

Good on Clyde, I’ll call my representative but I’m not holding my breathe again
