Is anyone old school and not use their phone on their home toilet?

Anyone just daydream about life and gather their thoughts?
jonpenryn@reddit
Never do , dont want poo germs on my phone.
jonewer@reddit
Not any more. Plays hell with the chalfonts.
PetitPxl@reddit
I use my phone as the poo knife
LostBit444@reddit
Hell no, i’m sitting on the throne as I type this.
yourefunny@reddit
I have a loo book. Read it only when pooping. Although my wife does get annoyed as I can end up taking a long time if I am reading a good bit!
T_raltixx@reddit
I'm not there long enough.
bonjajr@reddit
No phone. No poo.
ameeeeeen@reddit
Bob Marley's new song sounds a bit shite.
coconutlatte1314@reddit
There’s still shampoo bottles and toothpaste ingredients.
bonjajr@reddit
Had to go that when I was a kid. Sometimes I would make a paste from all the ingredients in the bathroom while doing my business.
PowerApp101@reddit
Words to live by.
Rymundo88@reddit
Convert that to Latin, and it's my family Coat Of Arms
Sergeant_Fred_Colon@reddit
I think you'll find it's "Romani ite domum".
Rymundo88@reddit
Roman's shit on the phone? You've forgotten to conjugate the verb, you're fackin' nicked, me old beauty
phatboi23@reddit
where's /r/vexillologycirclejerk when you need them? haha
NiceCaterpillar8745@reddit
No-us phonus, poopus maximus.
nadthegoat@reddit
It’s like a waste of a good poo forgetting your phone.
LobsterGlittering174@reddit
😂😂😂
pajamakitten@reddit
I am on the toilet for ninety seconds at best, no need for a phone there. Besides, the last thing I want on my phone is any bacteria that could be found in a toilet.
No-Medicine1230@reddit
As someone with a chronic bowel disease, i dislike you. What I’d give to a healthy bowel like yours!
pajamakitten@reddit
I have IBS myself actually. The cumulative time I spend on the toilet is more than a minute, however each trip is still less than a minute. That shit comes out fast.
No-Medicine1230@reddit
Not IBS, UC. It’s a different beast
pajamakitten@reddit
You have my sympathy. Bowel issues are why I am vocal about free public toilets.
No-Medicine1230@reddit
100% and disabled access. When you’ve got to go, you’ve really got to 😂
Shoddy_Pilot_2737@reddit
I'm old, old school, I don't use my phone on any toilet 🤣
Pink_Flash@reddit
Not all the time, because I have an an suite and can see my monitor from the toilet. YouTube baby 😂
EdmundTheInsulter@reddit
I never use my phone there
_methuselah_@reddit
But then how would you photograph it?
sayleanenlarge@reddit
God no. I daydream in bed at night after reading a book, but to be unentertained on the toilet? I don't think I can hack it. I tried reading the shampoo again when I forgot my phone, but I couldn't read the writing now I'm middle aged.
MissKoalaBag@reddit
I tend to keep a book or two in the bathroom for particularly long 1s or 2s. Just in case.
pencilrain99@reddit
Was reading books and magazines on the toilet before mobile phones infact was doing it before we had a landline
Hairy_Ad5141@reddit
The lead doesn't stretch far enough for me!
GuyOnTheInterweb@reddit
if you go to an old, posh hotel, it will have a telephone mounted in the toilet! you know, for those biz negotiations.
Hairy_Ad5141@reddit
I am old but not posh, unfortunately 😕
Milky_Finger@reddit
Ah so crazy instead of eccentric.
hardboard@reddit
Something to do with one of the party being full of bullshit?
babichickan@reddit
🙋♀️
prustage@reddit
I am never on the toilet long enough to either use the phone or daydream.
Forward-Tap2730@reddit
I'm usually done within a minute or two, but I like to nest in the cludgie and read for another 45 minutes.
pajamakitten@reddit
Same. People need more fibre and water if they are spending more than a minute on the toilet.
Forward-Tap2730@reddit
We keep a selection of books in there, hence it's known as the 'library'.
Many_Yesterday_451@reddit
There is no need for it in there. There's loads of reading material on bleach or shampoo bottles, etc.
theonlybandthatmatte@reddit
There is an Interesting parallel between this question and piles…
aurora_ethereallight@reddit
Exactly.
NiceCaterpillar8745@reddit
I try not to now. I find I spend more time using my phone. Just on the bog for an hour scrolling social media because I get so distracted, I forget why I'm really in there.
PowerApp101@reddit
I get dead leg if I'm there that long
hardboard@reddit
But do you depart thinner and lighter?
Apuonbus@reddit
I still have a land line. Is that old school?
aurora_ethereallight@reddit
Us too 😉
aurora_ethereallight@reddit
I do not use my phone whilst going no2... I dont even understand touching the phone after you've touched the toilet! (We've put the lid down for years because of cats, so if you want to use the toilet, you have to touch it first).
TeaLiving7900@reddit
I am a software engineer working my but off to live off the grid farming and be rid of technology. Honestly, so tired of tech addiction.
Cautious_Frosting_24@reddit
Keep a copy of Rodgers Profanasaurus by the bog.
dizcometal@reddit
Hehehe thought I was the only one
Low-Cauliflower-5686@reddit
Never take phone into toilet at home nor take it out in public loos
BlindingsunYo@reddit
I play guitar 🎸 on my toilet
hardboard@reddit
To squeeze out a tune.
BlindingsunYo@reddit
Basically
skibbin@reddit
When else am I to find the time to re-read the shampoo bottle?
hardboard@reddit
Never shampoo, you need to concentrate on realpoo.
Grimdotdotdot@reddit
Oh god damnit, guess where I'm sitting right now?
intangible-tangerine@reddit
I only take my phone in to the bathroom occasionally to play music during a long everything shower.
I'm totally fine being alone with my own thoughts and find it worrying that other people aren't
hardboard@reddit
Agreed about people not being able/willing to not listen to anything for even five minutes.
I remember an engraved sign I saw a few times:
Some people come to sit and think, others come to shit and stink.
FromAcrosstheStars@reddit
I take my phone in case I get bored but usually don't take long enough to need it
Spam_Frittering@reddit
Never. Wee jobby and gone. I've never lingered on the lav.
Vegetable-Meaning-31@reddit
I went more than 10 years without even owning a mobile in the end I had no other choice because everything requires one these days for code verifications and all the rest of it. Worked in a call centre for years and just developed quite a disliking towards phones and for that matter people.
ProtoplanetaryNebula@reddit
I was never really a fan of phones, but I always loved computers, so when smartphones came around, which were essentially pocket sized computers, then I became interested.
Dragonogard549@reddit
idk about you but my toilet doesn’t have any optional extras
OllyDee@reddit
No, this one of the few technical advances I’ve seen my lifetime that has genuinely improved it. Before I’d sit there and read the backs of cleaning products or sing or simply repeat the word “boring” in a monotone voice. Well arseholes to that lads, it’s the fucking future.
Spiritual_Weather656@reddit
This is crazy because its my favourite time to process my thoughts. I get a 5-10 minute window of just thinking without distractions... It's like meditation or self therapy for me.
OllyDee@reddit
I get plenty of time to do that throughout the rest of my day, I’d rather just switch my brain off when I’m having a shit. I save the introspection for the train or when I’m at work.
phatboi23@reddit
nothing better than a bath with a tablet playing your favorite music of TV show and just "soak" for a solid 30mins.
OllyDee@reddit
Mate, I listen to music and audiobooks in the shower. That’s some real sci-fi shit as far as I’m concerned. I would never trust myself with a tablet in the bath though, that’s just asking for trouble with my level of physical competency.
phatboi23@reddit
tbf i prop it on the shitter haha
OllyDee@reddit
That’s resourceful of you, I’ll have to try that myself. Life just keeps on getting better.
phatboi23@reddit
watching some TV while having a soak is peak relaxation imo :)
if the shitter isn't in the right place get a case that's a stand and prop it somewhere away from the bath so when playing with the rubber ducks you don't splash it haha
SprintsAC@reddit
I can't imagine using my phone on the toilet.
Iamtir3dtoday@reddit
Why would I lol? How much time are you people spending on the toilet?! I get in, do what I gotta do, wash my hands and leave. Surely it doesn’t require enough time to scroll the internet?
Spiritual_Weather656@reddit
Never. Not touching my phone before washing my hands so what's the point really.
Jameswc@reddit
I bring my phone in, but I remember the old ways. Now a whole generation of kids don't know what sodium lauryl sulphate is.
raccoonsaff@reddit
I usually just read something (we always have a book in the bathroom), or daydream.
Commonpixels@reddit
Like, I put a video on and leave it to the side? Can't risk being left with my own thoughts, but I won't touch it til I've washed my hands.
Acrobatic-Pudding-87@reddit
I take my laptop and attend Teams meetings.
Not-Reddit-Fan@reddit
Even as a kid I would take something in with me… the day I forgot the old classic back of bottles trick worked for a short-long call
cdca@reddit
Finally a decent question on this wretched sub.
gemmajenkins2890@reddit
I've never used my phone on the loo.
And I dont sit in there unnecessarily either. I go in, do my business, wash hands and out again.
Illustrious-Soup419@reddit
I've never thought to take my phone to the toilet
thread_cautiously@reddit
Me. I don't take my phone in the bathroom with me ever unless I'm waiting on an urgent call/delivery (ring doorbell alerts).
