Sad news indeed. The cheaper companies going away will have an impact on newer shooters.

PSA has the poverty monopoly now

Don't forget Hi-point is getting into the AR mix now.

Radical is still around.
DrunkenArmadillo@reddit
I have a Radical SBR. Low double digits serial number, no special engraving because it was an amnesty SBR. Maybe it'll be collectible one day.
NiceGuysFinishLast@reddit
There's still Diamondback and Black Rain Ordnance!

My favorite ones are Combat Armory when on sale. Brutalist aesthetic.

NiceGuysFinishLast@reddit
How could I forget BCA?! I even own one! (Not willingly, it literally showed up on my doorstep. Man, I wish I hadn't been banned from all the BCA Facebook groups, they were fun).

And just like that, an age passed right before our eyes. It wasn’t a good one, it they will be remembered.
squunkyumas@reddit
Based on the sections of the website still accessible, this looks like an AR manufacturer, which explains why I ended up puzzled as I have never heard of Anderson Rifles.
Still, sad to see any gunmaker close up shop. Pour one out.
emersona3@reddit
It's Anderson Manufacturing and if you've never heard of them, I'm not sure how you ended up here
squunkyumas@reddit
Not everyone likes the same things. 🤷♂️
emersona3@reddit
Understood but that tells me you've never looked at an AR lower in a LGS because they're either the first or second most common brand, along with Aero
squunkyumas@reddit
I've never looked at an AR lower period.
emersona3@reddit
Gotta broaden your horizons brother
squunkyumas@reddit
Meh. If I ever get anything similar, it will be a Mini 14. Until then, bolt actions all the way.
Fredlyinthwe@reddit
At first I thought you were European or Canadian but no, either you're a strange American or an imposter
lordofmmo@reddit
that's really cool and hipster of you to pooh pooh the most common rifle of the century! we should touch tips while we rack the bolts on our big bore boomsticks :)

That's a cool story.

What rock are you living under?
Itsivanthebearable@reddit
I’m shocked AR manufacturers can stay in business with the sheer supply of AR15s currently out there
pinesolthrowaway@reddit
Some people are snobs and refuse to buy used
Which is objectively silly, but they’re out there
MechwolfMachina@reddit
I bought my Anderson used lol, covid prices. Run an LMT upper now on that show pony.
bassjam1@reddit
I almost never see a used AR for less than I can buy new. Much less an Anderson, PSA, Ruger, or S&W.
bmx13@reddit
All my pawn shops have stacks of bottom tier AR's for hilariously high prices, I pity the poor dudes who occasionally get sucked in by the bright shiny crap tier accessories slapped on.
hitemlow@reddit
And if you try to sell one to a dealer, they'll straight up refuse or offer you like $200. People don't want to buy a hodgepodge of "customized" parts, and even ones that are still factory parts are just too many SKUs for a dealer to hold.
justhereforpics1776@reddit
Why would anyone on earth buy a used Anderson, Ruger, etc. They are so cheap. Just buy a new one.
Tushroom@reddit
Buying a used gun from the 90s makes sense. Buying a new AR used makes no sense
TheRealPaladin@reddit
It turns out that a lot of them can't stay in business.
justhereforpics1776@reddit
Oh no, $20 lowers no longer have a warranty lol
Terriblyboard@reddit
Now all my Anderson lowers are collectors items!
Responsible_Ebb_1983@reddit
Time to sell them for like 2000 dollars on gunbroker
ballman666@reddit
No sell, only buy. Especially now they are collector items.
LLcoolJimbo@reddit
Yeah and then once he dies I buy them at a fraction of the cost at auction with my wad of hundreds. It’s a delicate ecosystem.
Individual_Fox_2950@reddit
I have one, never a minutes trouble.
acidtalons@reddit
Unless they declared bankruptcy I'm pretty sure voiding the warranties isn't legal.
Caedus_Vao@reddit
I bet that the lawyers of Ruger understand this better than you do. They aren't going to acquire a brand for millions upon millions and just forget about some plain as day legal thing about warranties.
-spartacus-@reddit
Or their lawyers told them they can save more saying they are denying warranties than it would cost to settle any disputes.
TheRealPaladin@reddit
If they are no longer in business, does it really matter.
acidtalons@reddit
Ruger bought the assets, trademark and presumably the liabilities.
2Drogdar2Furious@reddit
So my $28 lowers are now collectables?
I'm gonna get a table at the next show (next to the jerky guy) and sell them all for $100!
(/j)
trashpandabusinesman@reddit
Noooooooo i was always so close to buying a lower 3 pack for less than $100. 😞 so sad to see the end of an era
Dak_Nalar@reddit
PSA still does $30 lowers when they have sales
TacTurtle@reddit
Closest they have right now is a 3x pack for $120
Dak_Nalar@reddit
Bet on 4th of July they do a 3 for $90 deal
specter800@reddit
They still do really deep daily deals. I grabbed like 10 "M4" and "M4A1 Gov Property" marked lowers for between $300 and $400 not too long ago.
marylandmymaryland@reddit
Just go do it, they can still be had for that lrice
Panthean@reddit
Can we take a minute to say fuck Ruger for buying Anderson and not covering warranties?
Drtysouth205@reddit
No? Why would they? They bought the inventory not the name or business..
MachineProof5438@reddit
I own 4 ARs and never heard of them, but I buy guns not upper or lowers
Caedus_Vao@reddit
Okay, so you can't read.
"I buy cars, not Hondas or Fords."
High_Af_Osrs@reddit
Ruger bought them.
Roguewolfe@reddit
Just for the machines and tooling?!? Why? Did they have marketable patents in their back pocket or something?
hitemlow@reddit
Their facility is fairly large and Ruger will likely swap the rollmark and keep going as-is.
arethius@reddit
So does this move Anderson up a tier or Ruger down a tier on the list?
hitemlow@reddit
Considering Ruger can't blue worth a fuck, it moves Ruger up a tier.
REDACTED3560@reddit
Ruger can do good blueing, just not on the firearms in your price point. The Ruger No. 1s have always had good fit and finish, and the Ruger-Marlins have great finishes from what I’ve heard.
asdfman2000@reddit
It moves Ruger up a tier on the list.
PlayingDoomOnAGPS@reddit
Is that confirmed? If so, it might explain the warranty situation. Ruger doesn't do written warranties at all. They do have a very solid reputation for customer service, often fixing things without charge. A few years ago, the transfer bar on my secondhand 1989 manufactured Single-Six broke. I contacted Ruger and they had me send it in and they fixed it free of charge. Pretty quickly too. I just paid the shipping to get it to them. I've seen a lot of similar anecdotes out there. Depending on how good Andersen's warranty service was, this might be an improvement. 🤞
ballman666@reddit
Thanks for the info
Any-Can-6776@reddit
That sucks for those with warranty
sanesociopath@reddit
Im surprised this is allowed considering the company was sold and not going defunct.
Proper agreements like that are supposed to be transferred to the buyer.
Devious_Bastard@reddit
It’s time for High Point to take over the poverty ARs.
Rugermedic@reddit
Does anyone have speculation on why Ruger would buy them only to close operations? When they bought Marlin it was brand recognition and it filled a product line Ruger didn’t offer. I understand buying Anderson for low cost AR production but then they shut it down. Anderson wasn’t a direct competitor of Ruger I don’t think. So what is the gain from their stand point? Maybe eliminate a small fish in a shrinking pond? I’m just curious.
MandaloreZA@reddit
" Ruger will not continue the Anderson Manufacturing brand or its firearms products. Instead, the Company will integrate the facility's capabilities into its broader operations, with a focus on launching new products, expanding Ruger's popular product lines and growing its established accessories business."

Rugermedic@reddit
Thank you.
hitemlow@reddit
TL;DR: They'll swap the rollmark and keep the factory running.
skm_45@reddit
Ruger wants more manufacturing capacity
Rugermedic@reddit
Make sense. Thank you.
DoctorBallard77@reddit
Wtfffffff this sucks. So many people I know were able to build their first ARs because of how cheap they offered these. Great lowers at a great price.
Does anyone know any details? Have they just gotten pushed out of the market?
arethius@reddit
Ruger bought them and will not be continuing the name/brand
Separate_Wrangler300@reddit
My last name is Anderson, should I just start Anderson Manufacturing Co. and benefit from name recognition? 🤔
hk_mpfive@reddit
Watch out for the Ruger henchmen when you get your business established and profitable:
No_Passenger_977@reddit
Sold to whom?
Larrythegunguy454@reddit
I've heard Ruger bought the inventory but not the name. I can't see them selling cheap stripped lowers with their name on them. I immediately order half dozen Anderson lowers from PSA.

Zeitgeist_333@reddit
Should’ve just got a Ruger. God dang it.
MapleSurpy@reddit
The fuck is your DEALER going to do if you have issues with an Anderson product? They're not responsible because Anderson cancelled all warranties.
PancakesandScotch@reddit
They’re passing on the “you’re shit out of luck” conversation to someone else to handle
dragonslayer137@reddit
I was checking out their site yesterday. Everything was out of stock. Sad day.
