Original motor?

I recently bought an 86 c10 as my new daily to school and back and I think it's the original motor, where would the serial number be on my c10 and 350 sbc

There is a pad on the front passenger side of the block, below the head and behind the alternator. There will be 2 number and letter codes stamped into the pad.
The left side will be the partial VIN. The last 3 characters on the right side will be something like Txx. You can Google that engine suffix code and it will tell you what vehicle/platform the engine is from.

I can't seem to find it is there a way to find the motor based of the cab?

No. The 8th digit of the VIN will tell you what engine originally came in the truck, but it won’t confirm that your current engine is the original engine.

Yeah but what would be the original engine based off the cab
tal125@reddit
Is there a VIN on your cab?
OOFMAN-1234@reddit (OP)
Yes

Also your TV cable isn’t hooked up. If that’s a 700R4 transmission your about to need another one

Th350

Should just be the kickdown then if it’s a 350c. Be sure though since both were options that year.
