The last big attack on the ICC was from Russian backed groups, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's them again. It's has to be either them or Israel. They're the only ones who have a vested interest and the capabilities to launch cyber attacks against the ICC.
RydderRichards@reddit
The last big attack was by the US

new_name_who_dis_@reddit
That's not an attack lol. Cyberattacks are basically one step below bombing in terms of escalation (although realistically they should be equal considering some cyberattacks can do more damage than some bombs).
RydderRichards@reddit
Sure, denial of service isn't an attack
new_name_who_dis_@reddit
Depends on the service you are denying. A denial of health service for example (eg cant call 112) could kill more people than a bomb.
RydderRichards@reddit
Which denial of service isn't an attack?
Soulegion@reddit
Obviously they were talking about cyberattacks
Level_Hour6480@reddit
The world has such a small pool of major villains.
BendicantMias@reddit
Not really..
tubawhatever@reddit
Unfortunately so. Netanyahu, Trump, and Putin are just the ones in the news the most. The world is full of villains.
BendicantMias@reddit
So does the US, which is also hostile to the ICC.
Esbesbebsnth_Ennergu@reddit
Yep, and considering recent events and developments I have an idea of which is more likely
ribald_jester@reddit
Got to love supposed first world democracies attacking an international court of law. Really paints them as law abiding countries with nothing to hide! LOL whom am I kidding - these are not law abiding first world democracies - but rabid ethnostates with bloated military industries who want to commit genocide!
umbertea@reddit
The firstest world democracy has it on law that they can invade the Netherlands to liberate war criminals from the ICC.
It was always a sham. Both the rules-based order and western democracy.
sarges_12gauge@reddit
I’m so confused why people keep talking like the US pushed a rules-based order on the world while not following it. When have they ever pretended they answered to anyone besides themselves? Like, it’s been very clear from inception that the US has a UN veto, doesn’t recognize ICC jurisdiction over them, and you see constantly a stream of the US as the only major country voting “no” to a ton of resolutions.
Call the US whatever names you want, but hypocrite isn’t really accurate on this front considering they’ve never accepted the superiority of any international body
umbertea@reddit
I am saying that the rules-based order and western democracy is a lie and you respond that the US are not hypocritical. You're having this discussion in your own head.
sarges_12gauge@reddit
It was never a thing in the first place to be a sham is my point
umbertea@reddit
So they can't be a sham because they never existed in the first place. Cool. Awesome talk.
Zipz@reddit
Who’s this first world democracy that you are talking about?
Shady_bookworm51@reddit
Well there are only real likely countries willing to do this. Russia, US and Israel. If it is the USA or Israel, this is likely all we will ever hear about it.
NearABE@reddit
The “attack” was an espionage attempt.
tlomba@reddit
and an espionage attack is, say it with me now, an attack
NearABE@reddit
Slapping someone upside the head is an attack too. You will hear them complain about it though.
tlomba@reddit
hm
ubebaguettenavesni@reddit
Sounds like an attack to me.
NearABE@reddit
Ya me too.
AlexanderTheIronFist@reddit
So the attack was an attack? Got it.
new_name_who_dis_@reddit
ICC has little reason to shield USA or Israel. The PM of Israel is wanted by the ICC, and the ICC was recently sanctioned by USA. They are just as likely to cover for Russia as for the other two.
Puffycatkibble@reddit
Maybe Donnie just asked barron to do the cyber
LowRevolution6175@reddit
Why? Stuff about these two countries gets leaked and detailed, especially in English media, on very large scales.
Weird_Point_4262@reddit
Damn this is really going to set them back on all the work they have to do.

breadgluvs@reddit
How will they write letters to ppl saying they're under arrest now?
