Nazi produced FN Browning Hi-Power post 1940

A little history about this gun - with Browning being an American company, the Nazis invaded Belgium in 1940 and took over production of this patent and produced it for their forces to use. There’s actually a Nazi insignia on the side. It’s a 9mm cartridge and amazingly reliable. Probably picked up off a dead Nazi officer by American forces. Also I know my aim is off I had a camera in my face haha.
Killertofu280@reddit
Uh oh. Guys be nice.
academiac@reddit
There's no "be nice" when it comes to firearms safety, son. That said, yes please let's suggest gently, yet assertively, that OP get some training.
KittehKittehKat@reddit
Nah he’s dangerous and needs some training this is baaaaad.
Alexius_Psellos@reddit
Very cool gun, and don’t let everyone else get you down about grip and accuracy. If you are having fun and being safe that’s all that matters.
Jdp1902@reddit (OP)
Def not just having fun lol 😗
lethalmuffin877@reddit
Wait… what does that mean?
Muckmenofficial@reddit
Na man you can’t support that, lack of control over a pistol like that is genuinely scary, you can tell he’s scared to shoot it at all.
Carl_The_Llama69@reddit
Bros terrified of that pistol 🤣
lethalmuffin877@reddit
It probably asked him for his papers right before the recording
RockSteady65@reddit
UncleSam7476@reddit
Who still holds a pistol like this?
ChiefFox24@reddit
You are yanking that trigger like crazy. You are hitting several feet low left of where you are aiming
asdf767@reddit
And teacupping
WeirdSysAdmin@reddit
Period accurate grip.
mo9722@reddit
gotta use just one hand for that!
austinsutt@reddit
And raise non dominant arm up and to the side for balance.
GlitteringActivity85@reddit
Unironically how I shoot period era pistols.
For a Tokarev I raise my pistol up like the old propaganda picture before I shoot it lmao
asdf767@reddit
it's not 1940 anymore though.
HemHaw@reddit
And zero backstop wtf
OneEyeWillyWonka@reddit
Wait, trees aren't a backstop?
/s
wtfredditacct@reddit
Jerkin that thang like it like it owes him money.
Jdp1902@reddit (OP)
Not use to the manly and heavy trigger of the browning
ChiefFox24@reddit
It doesn't matter if the pistol has a 12 lb trigger pull or a 2 1/2 lb trigger pull. It is the direction of movement on the finger. You are pulling the gun to the left as you squeeze instead of squeezing straight back on the trigger. That will come with practice but you probably need to get some training! Also the way you grab the slide puts you in danger of getting bit by the slide at the ejection port. Grab the frame just behind the port.
VladStark@reddit
Yeah, this looks like, "So anyway, I started blasting!"
Fredlyinthwe@reddit
Disable the mag safety, it helps
Matuco9004@reddit
1911/2011 spoils us 😁
Whosyahudi@reddit
Nice gun. Painful to watch. Was he holding his breath why is there a gasp at the end??
Jdp1902@reddit (OP)
I cut the vid short but my buddy and I were laughing abt how I couldn’t hit anything lol
Whosyahudi@reddit
lol makes sense. Awesome gun though!!!
Jdp1902@reddit (OP)
Happy birthday btw
Navysoonerchannel@reddit
Holding that thing like you’ve never shot a gun before
danieladickey@reddit
Tea cupping the grip ☕
MapleSurpy@reddit
Have you....ever fired a gun before?
The way you rode that slide forward made me loudly say "oh ew" at work, and when you started shooting I had to pause the video and collect my thoughts.
map2photo@reddit
I’m laugh crying in my basement office at “oh ew.” 🤣
Bromontana710@reddit
Looks like it almost jumps right out of your hand with each shot.
Siegelski@reddit
That's because it does. His grip is dog shit.
CapableSecretary8478@reddit
That’s disrespectful to dog shit
ThePretzul@reddit
My dogs really do have shits firmer than that grip there
TheCarm@reddit
bro are you having withdrawals? May my future surgeon never have these hands
ye3tr@reddit
Bruh i can shoot a rifle one handed without shouldering better
KittehKittehKat@reddit
Bro almost dropped it first shot…
Jdp1902@reddit (OP)
Unfortunately the tarkov skills didn’t translate here haha
lethalmuffin877@reddit
Do you mostly shoot revolvers? That teacup grip is a bad time for semi autos my dude. Gotta get the monkey grip and support clamp on then rotate the elbows up, lock in, and make a triangle to cut back on that flip
MisanthropicNun@reddit
Need to learn how to shoot
RockSteady65@reddit
💀
MAXXTRAX77@reddit
That gun deserves better.
RedditardedOne@reddit
I'm just here for the grip talk
gwhh@reddit
The German made 400,000 of those after they took over the FN works in 1940.
robertbreadford@reddit
Bros grip 🤦♂️
Dr_ChungusAmungus@reddit
This grip is called a “cup and saucer” grip, it is pretty old school.
Slugnutty2@reddit
The Queen demands when her ladies shot using the tea cup grip that the damsels extend the pinkie finger of the support hand like all good subjects.
rockit_jocky@reddit
I would have been more impressed with some decent pictures vs your shooting. Sorry.
ragandy89@reddit
Bro is in England with that grip.
GamesFranco2819@reddit
Why are you riding the slide home like that? Just let it go man.
tripinjackal@reddit
Of all the issues here, for some reason this is what irked me the most.
GamesFranco2819@reddit
I think it's because you can see/hear the slide hang up.
young_steezy@reddit
Yes, thing needs some lube
Sad-Wave-4579@reddit
You really need to work on your marksmanship. All sorts of people and sources to help on google/yt
Chrisscott25@reddit
On the plus side he don’t have to change targets very often… or at all
Shats_and_Gaggles@reddit
☕️
LetsGatitOn@reddit
Ill never understand the folks that buy guns but have little to no training. OP, its a cool gun..though I'm not into any nazi shit. But if your gonna shoot it, learn some basic technique
yeehawpard@reddit
Fastest and most accurate milsurp collector
901_vols@reddit
Guys cut him some slack. Some of us are here for secondary reasons. We aren't firearms people first. I'm sure he was into this gun for....some other reason
irierider@reddit
Now I want Tea
mufflumpkins@reddit
I'm not an expert but it looks like you're pulling the trigger too hard/fast and your grip is wrong
Tha_Maestro@reddit
Looks like you’re anticipating the recoil.
Harmsfather@reddit
Shooter confidence is imperative in handgun accuracy
Muckmenofficial@reddit
Yikes. You need to take a handgun course or something man. Really bad grip, trigger pull and general lack of control. I can tell just by this short clip that you are scared of it.
SendMeUrCones@reddit
Some days, I feel like I’m bad a shooting pistols, especially seeing posts on this sub of people going crazy nailing steel.
Thanks OP, for making me feel good about myself.
zkydash8@reddit
Pierce Brosnan should not be a role model for proper grip.
FadedIntegra@reddit
Making 9mm look like 10mm.
dnaleromj@reddit
You don’t need to fondle that thing like it’s got balls.
Dr_Juice_@reddit
Bro’s on the A-Team. Lots fired and nothing hit.
fred_ditto@reddit
Jesus Christ, there's so much nope going on here. And people like this wonder why they struggle to hit a target... it's not rocket science. But also not taking anything away from seeing videos of people shooting and holding a handgun properly says a lot about OP's, and a lot of people's, lack of self-awareness.
jaded4b@reddit
Reminds me of my fiancé's grip and shooting form. I tell her how to fix it and she just defaults to this idk lol
OneEyeWillyWonka@reddit
Cause they're always showing this piss poor grip on TV probably. Honestly with the impact that media has on the firearm owning community, it should be illegal to have a firearm in a movie or show that's being handled by an untrained professional. As a normie, you gotta get a license to carry and have to go thru all these classes and shit but if you're an actor that has an impact on the spongey minds of the general population, you can just terribly handle a firearm on camera and that's cool?
ElCochiLoco903@reddit
based?
YeNah3@reddit
thought stormtroopers only aimed like this in starwars
SwanMuch5160@reddit
My god, what’s going on with that recoil? I have a 1958 T marked, a 1987 Browning and an mid 2000’s FB Herstal and non of them have that much recoil with stock springs.
LupercalTypeIII@reddit
my guy got the shakes, did the browning come with "panzer choco"
MrBogardus@reddit
Odd grip bossman
Geronimo5316@reddit
Unless you’re British, there’s no reason to teacup your pistol, lol.
GaGuRoShoMo@reddit
Get a .44 Magnum. I just want to see what happens.
CollateralLlama@reddit
Ride the slide, teacup like a victorian lady, and shake like a leaf on the wind.
I'm confused by the cut of your jib.
lilcoold12345@reddit
Is this bait? If not seriously work on getting the fundamentals down brother.
NthngToSeeHere@reddit
Wow, so wrong.
The High Power was designed for/by FN. John Browning was only involved in the initial stages before he died. Browning designed more for FN than US companies at the end of his life. Of those designs for US companies, FN usually bought the rights to produce and dustribute worldwide.
the High Power was never produced in the US. All Browning branded pistols were FN made until the Buckmark .22 built in Morgan, UT, as a matter of fact the Buckmark was the first Browning branded firearm ever built in the US. The rest were built in Belgium or Japan.
-FN was producing the pistols for military contracts around the world when Germany invaded and diverted production to themselves, just like Radom Vis 35 and Konsberg 1914 (licensed 1911 copy) among others.
Jdp1902@reddit (OP)
Only thing I can confirm about this particular firearm is it was produced by the Nazis - so yeah
NthngToSeeHere@reddit
It wasn't produced BY the Nazis, it was produced FOR the Nazis.
Fun fact: the foreman over heat treating was later revealed to be a Belgian Resistance member and he supposedly tampered with the furnace guages to read lower than actual. So, they were treated too hot. I've never heard about any failures due to bad heat treat but that's the story.
Jdp1901@reddit
Nazi germany did invade liege, belgium and subsequently took over this factory. FN the owners of this factory were then forced to make the weapons for the nazis yes, but i think its a little too much of a gotcha for you to correct the story.
NthngToSeeHere@reddit
Which parts? The incorrect parts or the wrong parts?
Jdp1902@reddit (OP)
Oops yeah I guess Nazi occupied production lol. History isn’t my best suite but I love when a firearm has history behind it
robertbreadford@reddit
Based on this video, seems like a lot of things aren’t your suit
mannequinrepublic@reddit
All these comments about aim and nothing about shooting with no backstop. Makes me real nervous watching that.
Sit_back_and_panic@reddit
Incidentally, the last time OP practiced his shooting skills was 1940. Christ dude lol
ReactionAble7945@reddit
You should post over in the r/hipower group. Share the love and share some image. I would love to see the field stripped images. Curious how good they were made. Occupied and all.
ISt4Y_MadI@reddit
Jesus, form is a thing
Cornswoleo@reddit
That aim is probably what lost them the war lol
Killertofu280@reddit
😬
CapableSecretary8478@reddit
Holy trigger yank Batman!
THOMAS-TSUNOMAS@reddit
A Nazi powers Browning Hi-Power is some “Man in the High Castle” shit I had no idea existed
BaronvonBrick@reddit
Sweet gun man. You should work on that grip though, teacup grip isn't where it's at. There's a lot of good videos on YouTube that can help you choke up with your main hand and get your support hand into a much more useful position.
Happy shootin brother
AlphaTangoFoxtrt@reddit
Fix your grip
vintagestagger@reddit
Oof.
boomoptumeric@reddit
Christ, is this actually how they shoot? It’s all over the place
sirbassist83@reddit
thats just OP
