Copart corvette?

came across the Corvette. It says clean title. It had hail damage and it’s being sold by an insurance company. I noticed the airbag was deployed. Does that mean that it was also in a collision? I still think it’d be a great buy and could be fixed for less than another 20,000. Any input?

I’d say find what the engine is going for on eBay and don’t pay any more than that..

Was it ever flooded? Because wiring and rewiring is a lot of work.

I work on the insurance side, sending totaled cars to Copart, and it's worth noting that Copart doesn't actually know what the claim was filed for, when they list the damage they're just listing what they noticed when they were walking around it.
All that to say... Hail doesn't set off airbags. There's no other obvious damage on the car that would set off an airbag either, so my hunch is that maybe it took a big impact to the undercarriage. Copart doesn't put them on lifts to inspect the underside (unless the insurance company specifically requests it) so there could be some significant damage under there.

Hail damaged fiberglass?
The dash even says service restraint system... thats a collision of some sort. Airbags and seat belts triggered. Run away from that car.

looks like it got some air, judging off the damage to the front and the misalignment of the hood/frunk, headlights, and tilt of bumper.

be careful that this isnt a doctored up car...look at the hood gaps. they look uneven.

They do go off in collisions but this doesn't look like it was in one, or at least a big one.

My exact thoughts from the outside body looking completly in tact I

Don't listen to that guy. Airbags don't just go off for no reason from little bumps. We know this after 40+ years and billions of miles driven in vehicles equipped with airbags. If they just went off for no reason, there would be constant injuries and lawsuits.
Also, Copart is a very tricky world and you really need to know what you're getting into. Do your homework.

Make sure you fully understand Coparts billing and surcharges before deciding to bid. They are transparent but you have to dig into it. There is online fee, lot transportation fee, other fees...way more overhead than private auction companies.
