Epirus is a region in both Greece and Albania. The Southern part is in Greece (see Ioannina, Preveza etc) and the northern part is in Albania (Korce, Vlore etc).
The part that belongs to Greece was liberated by Greeks fighting the Ottoman army.
No Albanian army in the region at the time.
I guess because Albanians traditionaly made a significant proportion of the Ottoman army.
Albanians thought on independence and therefore fighting the Ottoman army only when the latter lost the war against Greeks, Serbs and Bulgarians.
In the first Balkan war, in 1912-1913, Greece, Serbia, Montenegro and Bulgaria pushed the Ottoman Empire outside of the Balkans. The result was that Greece, Serbia and Montenegro increased their lands, and Bulgaria and Albania gained their independence (although Bulgaria had autonomy for some time). Care to guess who won stuff because of the insistence of Italy without ever participating in the war?
both started it. The region of Epirus has always been multiethnic, and inhabited by both nationalities, with a shared culture, distinct from both rest of Albanians and rest of Greeks.
kinda impossible. There is no pentatonic music in Bosnia at all. The only thing I can think they share is the instrumentation (clarinet as you said, etc)

I'm not suggesting, I'm explaining.
Haunting_Bicycle_253@reddit
And I'm explaining that you need elementary school then .

Imperator_Gr@reddit

XenophonSoulis@reddit
It sure as heck wasn't a part of Albania during the same time
johndelopoulos@reddit

Sounds like it's from Epirus. The region has a very distinct music. Both the Greek and the Albanian side.

Epiriot/North Greece music mostly the part that borders Albania because the South of Albania is well known for making this type of music aswell

Clarinet and the rhythm is definitely like South Albania. Who started it first? I dunno, but I do like it.

I've noticed they share the same traditional costumes also. Very interesting how closely the Greeks and Albanians in that region are similar.

Bosnians have something like this too. One of the reasons why I started to hate sound of clarinet and fagot.
