If i wanted to lets say import a 2020 Brz from japan to the U.S. would it be legal or illegal even though the brz was sold in the states.

What is it about the Japanese version of the BRZ, as opposed to the US, that appeals to you?

He is one of the many dummies who think rhd is cool because jdm and that it increases the value of their car. It does none of those things.

As an owner of an old rhd car I disagree with the sentiment that it’s any more difficult unless the car has poor visibility to begin with. That said I have zero idea why you would want a rhd brz at all

brz was jus a example

As an ex-owner of a jzx90, it is harder. It's not HARD, but it's harder.

My mr2 I almost feel like it’s easier than my lhd cars, but there are almost zero blind spots to begin with

I brought 2 cars from USA to Scotland when I moved back, no worries with LHD just have to be careful turning left and stretch at a drive thru.

Would have to title it as a show car and keep in under a certain mileage per year

Why not buy one in the USA?

RHD?

Not worth the effort for something you most likely won't be able to import

You can import vehicles less than 25 years old if they conform with all federal safety regulations and are labeled as such. NHTSA maintains a list of vehicles which meet federal standards and can be imported. You'd need a letter from the manufacturer stating that the right hand drive model matches the left hand drive models crash safety performance, and you'd need to add anything missing that NHTSA requires. If you look at the government website for vehicle importation you can see the stuff people have to do to bring cars here. It isn't easy, and it's definitely not worth doing for a brz. If you want some option that we didn't get, or if you just want rhd, you can import those parts and convert a us based one. Easier and cheaper than importing a newer car.

It’s the same car though lol

You would never be able to register it.
Flenke@reddit
Sure, you could buy it and bring it over, but you can't legally drive it on public roads
ACG3185@reddit
You wouldn’t be able to register it until it’s 25 years old
