Holy shit! I need one of these!
SomeOne76254@reddit
early in this war, few of them surfaced in poland labeld as generic russian trophy knives with price tag of 1250$, i still ask myself how someone managed to smuggle them thru border...
RARE_ARMS_REVIVED@reddit
Because no one is looking for guns inside knives! For research purposes, are any of these still in Poland?
SomeOne76254@reddit
nope, they were very quickly sold, but copies of them are sometimes sold in ukraine, non firing copies are still made for DPR or LPR special forces, they are captured from time to time, thats your best bet
mav3r1ck92691@reddit
Yeah sadly obtaining one of these likely means someone had to die for a collector to be able to add another item to their shelf. As cool as the knife is, I don't want something with that kind of price attached.
SomeOne76254@reddit
thats the price for rare items, many people just forget that money isnt the only thing that someone has to pay
WXHIII@reddit
What's that chambered in? 9x18?
EquivalentGur8975@reddit
SP-4, a captive piston cartridge. The ammunition is the silencer. It's low powered but about like a .32 acp overall.
WXHIII@reddit
Ah! Thank you! I get why but id not want to be in the situation where I have to rely on .32 acp lol
EquivalentGur8975@reddit
They use it as a combat knife, but it's a survival knife. Being able to quietly secure food like rabbits when there may be enemies in the area could be the original purpose. Back when it was designed, mass produced drones with thermal cameras weren't really a problem.
ageofligmar98@reddit
ah yes, the eye removal device
Longjumping_Look3419@reddit
So when you’re carrying it you have a loaded gun pointed up at you all the time, good idea
Equivalentest@reddit
It just gives you some chance if you loose main weapon, or if you need to end yourself etc. don't have to carry it loaded for that. Last chance kinda thing
Rokkmachine@reddit
The many times this guys put his hand in front of the barrel I was waiting for a round to fire
ageofligmar98@reddit
yup, such a well though out design
Lythir@reddit
I wonder what kind of cartridge it takes.
stanizzzzlav@reddit
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PSS_silent_pistol This article has some basic info on the cartridge (it contains a captive piston that propels the bullet and seals the gasses inside the casing)
Lythir@reddit
Thanks man, that's crazy! It's really interesting and a bit surprising that the piston can seal the cartridge shut with the gasses inside considering how much energy is required to propel a bullet that caliber even at such a short effective range.
Forensics4Life@reddit
I imagine it's come straight out of a warehouse where it's been since the 70's or 80's and the fella who carried it temporarily had no fucking idea what it was.
Bet theres all sorts of weird Soviet era shite floating around in the conflict as they scramble to arm their conscripts.
default_Mclovin@reddit
I tought the same thing. Sometimes Iam sad that the soviet union collapsed.
RamenBoi86@reddit
“Scout knife with a surprise, you a Spetsnaz?”
JustACanadianGuy07@reddit
I’m gonna guess, since it’s Soviet, it’s in 9x18?
WayneZer0@reddit
the later version use 9x21 . these early version no clue. could be 9x18 could be tokarev 7,62x25.
Spartan543210@reddit
Not sure about this particular model but Russia did have 7.62x42 SP4 knives.

НРС-2. Rare thing, indeed.
False-God@reddit (OP)
No this would be the original LDC/NPC/HPC, the -2 was designed a decade or so later and has a different blade
EtheralWitness@reddit
Check ribert auction. I saw one there.
RaiderCat_12@reddit
An NRS-2, or NPC-2, very rare indeed. I’ve in fact never seen this in a video that I can think of.
Present_Friend_6467@reddit
That’s awesome dude, never even heard of these before
