Ouff I had one of those in Halifax once - took the pilot 3 tries to get us in. Slammed us hard.
Plane taxied to the gate, things got done and they opened the door. No one stood up, we all just sort of sat there. Finally the attendant said quietly "Ummm, you can all get off now"

Passengers on the starboard side: am I supposed to see the runway when we're landing?

"Am I the pilot now....?"
doorbell2021@reddit
At what point do you just need to give it to the copilot to land, because you can't see any of the runway from the left seat?
CantaloupeIcy7244@reddit
Port?
Ry24gaming@reddit
These planes have a pretty good fov so maybe in a hurricane.
basilect@reddit
For all you know the FO could have been landing this one

Looks like a small airport. Is that CZFD?
G0DL3SSH3ATH3N@reddit (OP)
YKJ key lake
S1075@reddit
Even more remote. I didn't know the ATRs go in there.
Sk1900d@reddit
It’s bigger than ZFD
S1075@reddit
Bigger in what sense? It's just a mine, and the mine isn't always operating.
Sk1900d@reddit
It’s operating continuously (and probably will for another 10-15 years or more) and has a longer runway and a bigger ramp.
S1075@reddit
Fair enough. I talk to a lot more traffic in the CYSF and CYBE areas than I ever do around CYKJ. Is it a twice daily sched type of thing?
Sk1900d@reddit
I don’t know if it is twice daily but there are scheduled ATR flights on top of other charters all the time.
CYNL feels like the busiest part of SK airspace at times. There is traffic out there
dvcxfg@reddit
One does not simply fly an ATR into YKJ; they drift it in
S1075@reddit
Not with 10,000 Cessnas could you do this. It is folly.
