Trade CZ Scorpion and cash for FS2000?

Looking at picking up an FN FS2000 for sale near me. He said he'd do the Scorpion with brace and $2200 cash (I think he'd maybe do $2000) for the FS2000 with about 500ish rounds. Comes with a Vortex 3x magnifier and a Holosun optic that I do not really care for. I also do not really love the Scorpion that much anyway.

Talk him down to 2000 and I'd do that trade.

Little high on the price but you’re not going to find another so I probably would. Cz scorpion was the jankiest PCC I’ve ever owned and I have quite a few. Did not miss it and frankly if you ever do, they are not hard to get.
DocMettey@reddit
I own several PCCs and I love my scorpion. What about it do you not like?
Pork_Confidence@reddit
Agreed. I have the CZ S2 micro, so not the typical one - I also have rat works integral suppressor installed on it too, and a binary trigger. With a folding stock and VFG it's one of my favorite 2 stampers
heavilyarmeddad@reddit
Overall fitment was just loose and sloppy, it didn’t have a good trigger, wasn’t comparable to low recoil guns. It wasn’t the worst but the only redeeming factor was its aftermarket ability’s. There’s just no real reason to want it other than it is cheap. I’ll also while it’s not the guns fault technically, my buddy who had a SOT had a OOB detonation that sent side of the receiver flying about 50 feet. If you actually google it and go to images there’s also a ton of instances where that happens. So I’d also put it in the category that it’s not a safe gun either.

Could you share the link? I'm only seeing a single one from a reddit post over 5 years ago.
ArmedAwareness@reddit
The metal on the stock bolt is soft and at some point enough metal can peen over to keep the firing pin block depressed even when the trigger is not pulled. This greatly increases the risk of an OOB.
heavilyarmeddad@reddit
Just do “out of battery detonation cz scorpion” on google images. I’m seeing quite a few. Cant really share a link of my search I guess but that’s what I did out of curiosity to see if there were others and I’m seeing a few.
Pork_Confidence@reddit
Ahhh I see. Understood and thank you. Very few of the S2 and of those, sounds like ammo was the culprit. I get where you are coming from with the other versions tho.

The issue that’s been happening for some is the bolt is made of a softer grade of steel than the hammer.
The hammer can deform the bolt carrier to where the firing pin release on the bolt ends up stuck engaged, which makes your gun not drop safe, and able to fire out of battery.
Nexus sells stronger steel bolt carriers, but you can also dremel or file your bolt to reduce some of the contact areas that can eventually deform.
My bolt did deform around 1k rounds suppressed, I machined it up at home and it’s been ok for another 500 but u don’t shoot it as much now.

Check out the scorpion Reddit just type in OOB.

For me, it's the recoil. Maybe im spoiled by my friends SP5 but I was surprised at it. I love the mags though.
Pork_Confidence@reddit
Since I'm shooting subs with a suppressor ( One of the largest volume 9 mm suppressors currently on the market) my recoil is nil, but this thing has a lot of build time and tuning into it so it makes sense that it would perform better than average
ArmedAwareness@reddit
As someone who has owned a scorpion, I would not own one again.
darke0311@reddit
I was up in the air between a scorpion and an AKV and I’m so glad I went with the AKV, it’s phenomenal
Equivalent-Region895@reddit
I wouldn’t trade a 10/22 for one. I’ve shot one. Worst gun ever.
Flat_Salamander_3283@reddit
Without question yes
NotJayKayPeeness@reddit
I'd do it in a heartbeat, but i own a 2000 and don't own a Scorpion so I'm biased.
Nyancide@reddit (OP)
Can I have a quick review? Not looking to make it my SHTF gun (yet) due to barrel wear and such over time, but I'm an FN circle jerker and would love to own it.
cthompson07@reddit
It’s cool, but it’s bulky and heavy. Shitty trigger. Hard to find parts. Won’t take PMAGs due to the rubber gasket in the magwell.
I love mine lol.
Nyancide@reddit (OP)
less so looking for a bullpup and more so looking for an iconic and rare gun tbh. im an FN fanboy honestly and would love to just use it as meme in a three gun match every once in a while. won't take pmags? that's definitely interesting. the gun is listed at 3000.
cthompson07@reddit
I feel you 100%. I got mine cheap, and I still mainly got it for coolness and nostalgia. It’s still fun to shoot, don’t get my wrong. Seeing the casings come out the front never gets old.
As far as the PMAG issue goes, I just have regular USGI metal mags and those work fine. They are cheap and plentiful so at least you aren’t having to buy a proprietary magazine.
NotJayKayPeeness@reddit
What the guy below said. This is a gun for someone that already has the guns that put in work.
CD2A@reddit
I’m sure someone can give you a better review, but it’s definitely more of a collectors piece than a range toy IMO. I would absolutely trash that scorpion (traded one a while back) but try to take good care of my FS2000 mainly because parts are no longer readily available. It’s a weird ass gun all things considered, but it works well and is easy to get used to. It’s like a really cool novelty gun that’s fun to shoot but I definitely wouldn’t want it as my only gun. If you’re into the FS2000 you will enjoy the hell out of it, very unique and not many people have them.
Over-Body-8323@reddit
Fs2000 is a piece of shit. Owned one and fn took it back it was so fucked.
DrunkensAndDragons@reddit
I passed on a fs2000 for 800 at cabelas around 2010. Seems like it would have been a good investment. If i saw one for $2500 i wouldnt buy it nor lose any sleep about it.
Drake_Acheron@reddit
Yes, I’d do it for 2500 even. Such a cool design and ahead of its time. And it’s called the 2000 cause thats how many are left /j but only a little.
audie44@reddit
No
CD2A@reddit
Get to 2000 and that’s a W💪🏼

Thanks for the input.
