I don't know.
Yes, very.

Peeled, or unpeeled?

Peeled. I'm not crazy

Just... Why

I ate deep-fried spiders in Cambodia 20 years ago. I can still remember the taste.
Sea_Appointment8408@reddit
How would you describe it?
CapitalAlternative89@reddit
Friend came back from Thailand and made deep fried crickets for our super bowl party with a spicy aioli dip. I ate a couple until I bit into a really "meaty" one, immediate texture turn off.
systemsbio@reddit
I enjoyed the deep fried mars bar I tried, but I took it next door to the place where they were willing to turn anything into a milkshake.
Not the best milkshake.
RegularWhiteShark@reddit
“Willing to turn anything into a milkshake”.
Hmm. I really wonder what surprisingly good combinations they could make and what surprisingly bad ones (and what the worst they’ve made is, surprising or not).
elementarydrw@reddit
There's a chain with a huge list of things they have to make milkshakes of called Shake away that I used to live near.
The one that was the most surprising for me was cucumber. Definitely the most refreshing for sure!
MorgsiePooh@reddit
I haven't eaten this before but deep fried butter just sounds extremely gross 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢
CinnamonToast61@reddit
I am struggling to understand what it would be like. Would it be an empty batter case? Would it be a collapsed fritter? What would it be?!
MorgsiePooh@reddit
It's a deep fried butter fritter they make at the fair or carnivals but I would be super sick if I ate it
trysca@reddit
Crab and sweetcorn- both served lukewarm reheated and ouly as fuck in China
Ok_Profile9400@reddit
Chicken fried steak in LA. Worst fucking food I ever tried and I’ve been all over the place eating local shit.
Light_Eclipse140283@reddit
Yea that sounds terrible
Routine-Slide6121@reddit
Chicken fried steak is actually nice when ive had it, its basically a battered burger
Light_Eclipse140283@reddit
I like chicken steak, but it when it’s fried. It reminds me of cutlets, which I’ve never been a fan of
ProfessionalEven296@reddit
Deep fried Haggis, in Drumfries in 1986. Why? Because we were in Scotland…
The_Yellow_King@reddit
This is available in Northern England too and is absolutely lovely.
ShriCamel@reddit
Mars bar.
In Fort William, a fair few years ago. I think they'd drop anything in the fryer if you'd asked them. It was disgusting, but also glorious. Try it at least once.
OrganizationOk5418@reddit
I've had deep fried pizza, Mars bar, and ice cream; all utterly delightful.
richStoke@reddit
I think this needs to be passed onto our Scottish friends…
backdoorbertie@reddit
Hash browns. Thought they’d crisp up, just held oil. Absolutely rank, even with an industrial bout of the munchies
Antonio_Malochio@reddit
Creme egg. There used to be a takeaway near me - fish and chips, pizza, and kebab - you know the type. Their gimmick was that anything on the menu also came deep-fried. And that included the little tuck-shop area they had...
QuestNetworkFish@reddit
deep fried can of coke?!
PistolPeteWearn@reddit
Deep fried coke is genuinely a thing in the US, although I think it's a bit like a cola flavoured cake pop as opposed to fizzy liquid in batter.
Polish_Shamrock@reddit
I've had a creme egg, deep fried from a chippy and i liked it. Once had a deep fried penguin though, made the biscuit nasty.
imtheorangeycenter@reddit
Country fried bacon. Basically battered bacon. Too much, as sacreligous as that sounds.
ThatBlokeYouKnow@reddit
Disgusting Fried food is a oxymoron
dinobug77@reddit
Except if they use old oil. Then anything is disgusting.
crankgirl@reddit
You read satsuma, right? Is that the thing that proves the thing?

A 'Pizza Crisp'.
A few, many probably, years ago I was in Ibiza with a few mates. One night there was a girl me and a mate were chatting up; at some point she asked us if we knew what pizza crisps were, neither me or my friend did. She then went on to describe the most delicious thing you could imagine; in typical drunk hyperbole. She was Scottish, as we know they have a penchant for deep frying strange things. She made us promise to try one, and recommended a spot to get one.
On one drunken stumble to the hotel, trying to make it home after a long night, we thought to try this mythical pizza crisp. We even hunted out the recommended spot. We both purchased the article, saved it until we arrived home. We didn't want to disrespect this greasy nugget with eating it while walking.
You know those really cheap 'cheese' (3 strands of milk solid) and tomato pizza you can get, same size as a side plate. Somehow still 50p after 145 years. It was one of those, dipped in batter and fried. The batter did not hold up and the pizza crust became a sponge for the fetid oil in the take-aways fryer. So it was just terrible cheap pizza, soaked in horrible used oil with a batter finish.
I knew I was right to distrust the Scottish. This incident just re-affirmed it.
Midnightraven3@reddit
A pizza crunch is a thing of magnificence. IF done properly. Everything you describe is just a really bad attempt at it.
underwater-sunlight@reddit
I love a fried pizza but not a crunch. I prefer the texture of the pizza without batter. I could go for a half fried cheese and onion pizza now
Midnightraven3@reddit
I'll have the other half!
Jack-Rabbit-002@reddit
I'd normally say deep fried Mars bar but I recently heard about Yorkshire puddings and though I haven't tried it I feel I'm not willing to partake in such heresy 😄
ryskwicpicmdfkapic@reddit
I hate Yorkies, they are the most overrated thing ever, I never understood the appeal. Bland, tasteless, boring. Ppl will be like “but you’re meant to soak them in gravy, blablabla”, well that doesnt make them good, they still rank. Anything soaked in gravy will taste good.
But…
They are not technically deep fried.
Goblinstomper@reddit
Technically they are deep fried, you heat the oil in the pan first then add the batter, which should still have the hot oil on top of it when you finish pouring.
I love Yorkshire's but there are so many disappointing, bland, dry versions around; for example Aunt Bessie's are sub optimal.
The mix is essentially the same as a crepe batter, and like that you can jaz it up if you're feeling a little whimsical.
ryskwicpicmdfkapic@reddit
One would argue. They are fried, not deep fried.
Only yorkshire I am willing to accept is the one made from scratch. Any of these pre made frozen or chilled are dogshite.
Temporary_List_3764@reddit
You’re bold, I’ll give u that
UnderstandingFit8324@reddit
I commend your bravery, now to the depths you go.
TALongjumping-Bee-43@reddit
The heresy is only having recently heard about Yorkshire puddings, and being unwilling to try them too! They are necessary on most good roasts
sempiterna_@reddit
I thought the same as you until I realised OP probably means deep-fried yorkies. I can’t really see the benefit in deep frying them, but I’d be willing to give it a go!
Margaet_moon@reddit
I live in Glasgow and I refuse to eat a deep fried Mars bar. It just has never sounded like a good idea to me lol

Vile. badly fried, greasy, crap sausage inside. Once tried, will never repeat.
Oohoureli@reddit
Corn dogs.
Timely-Field1503@reddit
I've eaten my share of corn dogs, and it's a thin line to get them right. Best one I had was with a homemade batter that had jalapenos in it. Right mix of crisp and soft along with sweet and spicy.
That was about the only good one.
Psychological-Bag272@reddit
This. Such a disappointment.
jonathananeurysm@reddit
Cod tongues.
The folks of Newfoundland are a stout and trusty breed but they need to stop inflicting this on tourists.
The mouthfeel? The contents of your handkerchief during your last serious chest infection in a light tempura batter.

Deep fried butter at the fair. It was on a dare.

99% of fried things I have eaten in England tbh, especially in London
Rose-of-England@reddit
Used to have a chicken shop down the road from me. One of those shady ones that pops up every now and then and gets shut down a year later. Before that it was a knock-off KFC called RFC (Rugby Fried Chicken). The Food Hygiene Rating was a 1, and obviously they didn’t show it out front like they’re supposed to
Spirited-Dirt-9095@reddit
Frozen broccoli - no batter just straight into oil that wasn't hot enough. I was at my mate's house, her mam had gone out so we'd necked a load of homebrew wine and got experimental in the kitchen.

Battered chips. Tasted disgusting.
Light_Eclipse140283@reddit

Chick pea and Pineapple fritters. Simultaneously too sweet and too greasy and yet somehow bland
Light_Eclipse140283@reddit
What in the hell is that combo. Gross!
Kjrsv@reddit
If the chickpea has a chana daal seasoning, or is similar to a samosa, I think it could be great. Pineapple? I can't even stand it cooked in a sweet and sour sauce. The batter would probably be nicer.
JP198364839@reddit
We bought a portion of battered mushrooms while in a pub, ordered from a nearby chippy. I really protested this idea and after eating about four of them, she agreed I was right.

SmartPriceCola@reddit
It’s great, but it’s so unhealthy.
Used to get that and a deep fried pizza for school lunch. If I did that now my heart would chuck itself off the hell in a cell
