People still can't read posted road signs...
Leaf-Stars@reddit
If I have to pass you on the right you’re getting the bird.
Zaniac1273@reddit
That's a shoulder lane. It's only permissible to use for travel on Sundays and Mondays
Leaf-Stars@reddit
And what day was this video taken?
confusedbystupidity@reddit (OP)
Now now... they already can't read... just give em a "bless your heart" and call it a day...
wwwwweeeeelllll@reddit
Chicago has this except it's everyday of the week no restrictions but it's just for ~~ four wheelers~~ buses.
confusedbystupidity@reddit (OP)
This is only Sunday and Monday due to Californians going back home after the weekend... but then some idiot thought it was ok to bottle neck it at the top of the hill... so if you can avoid it on Sundays and Mondays
Zaniac1273@reddit
Yep! I live in Victorville, and grew up in Barstow. Traffic on southbound 15 coming back from Vegas has always been horrible on Sundays especially, or on holiday Mondays. There are times when I'd go home from Vegas on such days and I'd rather take 95 down through Searchlight and take 40 across from Needles or Fenner instead, since 40 usually isn't as bad. Nipton Rd over to Ivanpah Rd and going through Cima and over to 40 via Kelbaker Rd is also an option I've used multiple times, though the latter is via POV only, since it's not a truck legal route.
Desperate-Position50@reddit
I’m going to bet you chose to ignore the other sign. 55mph 3axles or more.
Zaniac1273@reddit
No, the trucks are all legit in the correct lane. This is southbound I-15, in between Primm and the agricultural checkpoint/chicken coop. The shoulder lane is legal to use on Sundays and Mondays only.
copper_wing@reddit
That means 70 in American English
Desperate-Position50@reddit
White Volvo reefers from Chicago are exempt.
Fuzzy1598@reddit
That's just more of a "suggestion"
hiplainsdriftless@reddit
Is this as you enter California south of Whiskey Pete’s? I heard they put a chicken coop out there. I have not been in this area since April 2006.
Zaniac1273@reddit
Yes. They also moved the agricultural checkpoint that used to be just north of Yermo to the same area where the chicken coop is. That shoulder lane is also legal to drive in on Sundays and Mondays.
Brickman88@reddit
Yes, they did.
They finally noticed that they didn't have anything at the very bottom of that climb up to Mountain Pass, so they fixed that oversight.
Fit_Hospital2423@reddit
I’m not familiar with the road and I can’t seem to zoom in to where I can read the signs. What is it? A climbing lane for trucks only?
Riyeko@reddit
Looks to be either i15 or i40 in California.
Zaniac1273@reddit
Definitely I-15 southbound, between Primm and the Mountain Pass weigh station and agricultural checkpoint.
Shoulder traffic is legal there on Sundays and Mondays
Low_Development5045@reddit
It's that stretch of i15 between Las Vegas and the Agricultural check point entering California.
Fit_Hospital2423@reddit
So now I just have to ask…. Why do they allow travel on the shoulder from 10 AM to 8 PM on just Sundays and Mondays?
Low_Development5045@reddit
It’s probably to accommodate the extra traffic for those days. Lots of people head back home from Las Vegas to SoCal those days.
Fit_Hospital2423@reddit
Thx
Fu6uKi@reddit
it's technically a shoulder but it's an open driving lane on Sundays and Mondays during the day
happy0444@reddit
Yea, Milwaukee could never have something this nice.
Fit_Hospital2423@reddit
Thx
49RedCapitalOs@reddit
All I can make out is that it says traffic on shoulder allowed
Fit_Hospital2423@reddit
Thx

confusedbystupidity@reddit (OP)
For Californians returning home from vegas... its ALWAYS a bad time on Sunday's and Monday's on the 15 and the Cali border...
Fit_Hospital2423@reddit
That’s fascinating.
Negative334@reddit
Looks like I15 heading to Cali right after Primm NV
confusedbystupidity@reddit (OP)
Correct
Meatbuns66@reddit
English is required?
confusedbystupidity@reddit (OP)
You can't be serious... how many multi lingual signs have you seen NOT NEAR the Mexican border...
Meatbuns66@reddit
Im not lol
Acceptable-Pop-1950@reddit
Yuhp that’s the 15 leaving Las Vegas to California. Says you can drive on the shoulder at certain times. My trainer once said “yes you can drive on it but I’d only drive on it when the lights are flashing.” And I’m like read the sign I don’t think it says light has to be flashing for you to use the lane. traffic ain’t that bad there don’t really matter what lane you use at the end of the day.
DuckDriver69@reddit
They are all trying to pass the invisible car in the right lane
couchpatat0@reddit
The right lane is the new fast lane!
4runner01@reddit
*passing lane
Patient_Walk_1329@reddit
Looks like an idiot utha driver
confusedbystupidity@reddit (OP)
Hey now... just because they refused to read the posted signs dont make them idiots... they maybe cant read English so good... and then you wonder how they passed not only the citizen test, but also drivers and cdl tests...🤔
confusedbystupidity@reddit (OP)
Whiskey Pete's is no more... and yes, this is the 15s. WPs it's next up for demolition... Primm is just about dead... surprised they opened Buffalo Bills back up...a couple years ago...
irrelevantusername16@reddit
Primm will be back they're building a new airport where the golf course was in 2029.
confusedbystupidity@reddit (OP)
That doesn't sound like a smart thing to do... I mean, I dunno if you remember the landing, in Jean, mowed down to build all them warehouses on the opposite side of the truck inspection...? They just need to update what's there. Its beyond me why primm is on life support but on the border of AZ it's still in good shape.
irrelevantusername16@reddit
I think they are renovating whiskey Pete's. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_Nevada_Supplemental_Airport
AndromedanPrince@reddit
whats the issue? traveling on the shoulder is allowed during the time hes doing it
confusedbystupidity@reddit (OP)
I think you read my post wrong... or misinterpreted it...
AndromedanPrince@reddit
yea i def had to
TruckeronI5@reddit
Dude, what is that lane you are driving in?
confusedbystupidity@reddit (OP)
See... can't read the signs...
thatcluckingdinosaur@reddit
its a designated truck lane in socal that open during certain times/days and it exits to a weight station.
confusedbystupidity@reddit (OP)
Yes
Jerry_Dandridge@reddit
One of the reasons I like have a cab and outside facing dashcam is just in case one of these idiots causes a pile up and dies, I won't get blamed.
ConsequenceSweaty241@reddit
Why you following the dumb ass
QuestionSeven@reddit
I have several questions…….
Fuck it. Never mind.
foreverlost1nsea@reddit
I'm glad they don't. That's like a free lane for you to cruise in.
