Making my G8 GXP the Ultimate Daily — Comfort Mods & Ideas?

Fellow car enthusiasts,
I’m building my Pontiac G8 GXP into the most comfortable daily possible — something that still rips, but won’t beat me (or my girlfriend) up on NYC’s rough roads or long weekend trips to the mountains for fly fishing.
Here’s what I’ve done/planned so far:
• H&R Street Performance Coilovers & new strut mounts
• Pirelli P Zero AS Plus 3s (255/40/19 front, 275/40/19 rear)
• Custom leather seats from leatherseats.com
• Sound deadening (doors & rear deck)
• Kicker Key amp + upgraded speakers
• Kooks LTH + Solo Mach Balanced exhaust (keeping it quiet but still mean)
Looking for more comfort/luxury-focused upgrades — especially ones that reduce noise, smooth out the ride, or add useful tech (CarPlay, backup cam, etc.).
Any mods you’ve done that actually made your car feel more refined or livable? Would love to hear what worked for you.

Everything you want to do makes it less comfortable lol

No it doesn’t. Are you assuming I’m modding a car straight off the lot? This thing is 17 years old and has 108k miles. The suspension is shot and the old tires were literally cracked.

And you think lower stiffer suspension and lower profile tires will make it perform better than OEM replacements?
CarolinaGrad@reddit (OP)
The OEM FE3 suspension is not impossible but very hard to source. And the H&R Street set was specifically selected due to its soft spring rates. They are not an ultra stiff Coilover. Furthermore, these tires have MORE sidewall than stock. I bought the largest sidewalls I could get with the Pirelli tires.

Good luck buddy. Never in my entire life have I had a set of coilovers be the same or more comfortable than stock suspension.

You’re useless dude. Different coilovers have different spring rates. And the OEM is only available in Australia.

I'm well aware of that. You seem to be unaware that they will still be stiffer than stock. But again, good luck. Don't come in here complaining about ride quality

Custom leather seats makes are worse than the fake vinyl? Upgraded speakers and sound deadening makes it worse? Useless comment and input from you.

Hey, tried messaging you but r/Holden
r/Carsaustralia fucking sucks

Will do, thank you!

You'd have a smoother ride with 18" wheels - especially if you went with lighter wheels than stock.

Fair point, I did that for my base G8. The 19s looks great though AND they allow for the brembo brake package which is very important on this car.

Ah yeah, if there are clearance issues I totally understand.
