ULPT Request: successful credit card chargeback

Looking for tips on increasing my success chance for a credit card dispute.
Took several Italian trains yesterday and paid via credit card. The last train going home ended up selling out, and the next one was 5am. We hopped on anyway, as the first 4 trains we took never checked tickets. Of course we get caught and charged €420, paid via tap (no signature or pin). Used a Canadian 'Brim Financial' Mastercard.
Debating now on disputing. Either we say we never authorized the transaction or we only authorized the €20 ticket price. Also thinking it may be best to wait before opening the case; it may be more difficult for the train company to find video footage of us a month after the fact vs a day after.

Get out of italy and open a report?

You don't need to get out of Italy he could do it literally outside the train station or another city.

Go ahead and open the chargeback and you are within the right time frame. Just say you just realized you had been charged. Banks are understanding that you are traveling and busy. They will understand. Trains are not expensive, and based on what they cost in the U.S., I think you have higher chances to win this one.
I have traveled Europe extensively. When I took my mother, I did a lot of chargebacks. I demonstrated proof of reservations and said things like, we stayed here for being one of the cheapest hotels in Paros, 45 euros or so, but I would get there and just ask for a room upgrade like 150 euros or 200. I would just call my bank at the end of the trip for selected occasions.
I took a train from Rome to Milan by the way, and while I do not remember exactly how much it was, it sure as hell was not 420. Do the chargeback.
If you did not use a PIN or signature, that is absolutely even better. Just say you were forced to tap instead and were not even given the chance to look at the screen. Language was a barrier. This is primed for a successful chargeback. I have done chargebacks for whole flights. Go ahead and let me know how it goes. I already told you what to say but feel free to message. Get those damn euros back. That is already a ripoff anyway. It is not like it is Switzerland.
