ULPT I'm over streaming services. I have a roku TV and a TV with an Xbox 360 hooked up. If I start pirating movies and shows on my pc how do I watch them on my tvs?

Title explains it. I am paying more now for streaming services than I was for cable so it's time to cancel them and go back to my roots, I just need help with how to get the pirated stuff onto my tv
Oddveig37@reddit
I use the HDMI cord form PC to tv, my TV is my monitor.
Opera for YouTube videos for ad free without having to spend anything.
Internet archive for movies and other shows.
Pokeflix for anything and everything pokemon.

Why not use Wifi instead of HDMI cord? Too slow? And what about the relatively poor resolution (relative to a 4K TV) of shows and movies on internet servers like f2movies?
SoulsofMir@reddit
Do you remember this comment? The person who replied to you was kind of rude to you and never explained himself either so you couldn't even learn from it. Streaming your pc's display over wifi is way more complicated and prone to issues than using an hdmi cord. hdmi cords can also deliver 4k 60hz video just fine. I believe they can go 4k 120hz if you get a good cord. So your comment just didn't make much sense to people who know more about tech than you (no offense).
IgnorantTechFanatic@reddit
Thank you! Appreciate it. No offense taken. Do you recommend any particular brand/model of HDMI cord?

Wtf?
Wtf?
IgnorantTechFanatic@reddit
I don't understand, please explain.

Apologies, I didn't check the username. Checks out.

Brother! The answer is already there, does your Xbox have internet connection? Go on the internet browser and look up fmhy.net (free media heck yeah) there are thousands of pirating websites on there and all are verified and working. If one gets shut down, they add another to the site. People are wayyy over complicating this, I’ve been doing this for years so it’s all good 🙂. If your Xbox isn’t new enough, get an Xbox one they’re on Facebook marketplace for under 80!

Use an older computer running Linux to watch videos. I prefer Ubuntu. Use this computer as your dedicated movie computer and for nothing else. This way the hackers will get no information from your movie computer. If you do happen to download a virus, simply reload the computer with a fresh Linux image. Use a HDMI connection between the two. Download a Bluetooth mouse/keyboard app to your smart phone. This will give you remote control access to the movie computer.
Illegal sites operate in a Whack-A-Mole mode. When one gets whacked, two more pop up. If the site you were using shuts down, Google "best illegal streaming sites" to find a replacement site. The illegal sites generally require several clicks before you get to the video you want. Just keep clicking through the screens and kill them as soon as they open.

What's a good TV for watching movies/shows like this from your computer? Why not put it to TV over wifi instead of cord?

Emby, Jellyfin and Plex are options for you.
I use Emby on a Roku and Xbox, both work equally well. Add on the Servarr programs and thats what you want. Along with a good amount of storage.

No need to download or host with Stremio + torrentio addon + USATV for live, TPB+ as a backup. Pairs best with a debrid service like Real Debrid. Mine works fine with a VPN (you'll be streaming torrents, so helpful).

Check out superbox!

I’m surprised nobody’s suggested Kodi.
It’s free and has a lot more customization features than plex, but also takes a bit longer to set up.

I feel like I heard about that one like 10 years ago when I first learned about streaming and stuff. I remember an app on my phone that had just a bunch of folders to click through and I got confused and gave up but I'm sure they've had plenty of time to make it better
AJackobs_@reddit
The UI has definitely improved other the last few years. And there are different skins available to customize different pages. If you’re only looking to stream from your PC on your local network, I’d say Kodi’s the way to go.

Lookup plex with real debrid. I have a plex server running off a pc with 4gb ram and a 100gb ssd.
Real debrid gives you infinite storage for $2 a month. Me and my friends have been using it for 7-8 months now.

Plex server

This is the best option I've been using it for years now. I have rokus on all my tvs and it works perfectly.
SneeKeeFahk@reddit
Add this to your Plex setup and you'll be as happy as you've ever been about cutting the cord and heading for the high seas

TehWhitewind@reddit
Oh yeah radarr and Sonarr are fantastic. I've been using them with plex from the beginning.
inn0cent-bystander@reddit
Or jellyfin so you don't have to worry about changing terms, such as them going up on lifetime licenses, and look to be on the way to cancelling those all out.
SneeKeeFahk@reddit
At least show them where to get content for their Plex server too.

You may have multiple options: - Connect your pc to your TV via HDMI - Connect your pc to your TV using wifi/bluetooth/airplay - Put the films on a usb stick and connect it to the xbox
About the last option, it may not work as I'm not sure the xbox 360 will be able to read the pirated format, but it's worth trying.
Check Youtube, there are some tutorials on "how to play videos from Usb stick with an xbox 360"
TheIronSoldier2@reddit
About the last option, many modern TVs can play files on a USB stick directly if you just plug the stick into the TV's USB port
peffour@reddit
Correct! Depends on the TV. Sometimes the USB port is just to deliver power

Stremio+debri service is the only right answer if you are on a country that enforces anti-piracy laws
SneeKeeFahk@reddit
Plex works on basically everything and paired with the Servarr suite (Radar, Sonarr, Overseer, Prowlarr, and transmissions) you'll never have to search for content again. Just queue it up and let the *arrs download it for you and drop it in your Plex server.

I second Tubi and Pluto TV, as well as The Roku Channel that's already loaded on your Roku TV. All free with ads.
SugarInvestigator@reddit
You could surf the seven seas, install VLC on your laptop, and then connect the laptop by HDMI or cast the screen to the TV if they both have the capability
raylan_givens6@reddit
you don't even need that
so many free movies/shows without piracy needed
Youtube free movies are legit and extensive
Pluto and Tubi are free
Internet archive
Get a library card and you'll get access to free streaming platforms - use "Justwatch" site and type your show/movie and if its on a library platform, it'll tell you
Dailymotion
And back to youtube where plenty of shows/movies are posted just unofficially
paying for streaming makes no sense
Express_Ad26@reddit
Just download it and plug and play on your TV via a usb
