Powering 3090 Strix with 12v 2x6 output on PSU?

I have a Corsair RM1000e (2025) PSU with 4 standard 8-pin PCIe/CPU sockets. Two are used for my CPU, leaving two available for PCIe.
My 3090 Strix requires 3x 8-pin PCIe connectors.
I have a couple of options and want to know if they’re safe:
1. Power the GPU using the 2 available PCIe sockets on the PSU, but use one cable with a pigtail splitter to power all 3 connectors on the GPU. I’ve read this isn’t ideal.
2. Use the PSU’s 12V 2x6-pin socket with the included splitter cable that splits into 2x 8-pin PCIe connectors, then use 1 standard 8-pin PCIe cable for the third connector. Is this safe?
Which option is best, assuming I don’t want to buy a new PSU?
