I have posted here as a he relates to a British toy - which accessories etc did you have for Action Man. Who had Tom Stone?

The only part of Tom I have now is a head

Action man had a tank

Climbing Tower with zip line. Field commander radio with one of those little plastic records that speaking toys had in the 70s. The best one though was a little kit bag with tiny hand grenades, sticks of dynamite and (plastic) mess tins.

Oh my brother had that tower with zip line , I think the tower was orange
3Cogs@reddit
Yes it was orange with a cargo net up the front of it.

Always hated action man but saying that I got the moon vehicle as a present for christmas one year.

My brother didn't appreciate that I used to dress his Action Man up in Sindy's wedding dress 😂😂😂
Oodlydang@reddit
The sailor with dark hair and a beard and another with fair hair. I got a tower with a zip line but usually just used to climb a tree and drop the Action Man out to see how realistic his death looked

My Capture Copter had floats and actually floated in my blue plastic metal framed paddling pool.

Was Action Man really a "British" toy, it was launched in Britain in 1966 by Palitoy as a licensed copy of Hasbro's American "movable fighting man", G.I. Joe.

GI Joe. Chewed too much gum for my liking.

The first one I had was an eagle eye blonde soldier from ‘78, but his feet fell off (zip lining down the stairs) so I decided he’d died and burried him in the garden 😩. Then one Christmas maybe ‘84, I got a grenadier guard one with a busby. Sadly they all vanished over time. In the 90s I started collecting them but they were all early 90s models. Got over 100 in storage. Then when they started moulding the clothes on them and making them look more and more rubbish, I stopped collecting. Then they stopped making them… you’d think that there was a connection between them cheapening the product, and making it look ridiculous and it becoming unviable, but what do I know 🙃

Never had an ‘Action Man’, my dad thought dolls were for girls, but he was alright with me buying the accessories and weapons … go figure!

Not an accessory but a Action Man vehicle that still haunts me to this day (nearly 50 years later)
We had an Action Man Helicopter (this one if I recall https://www.actionmanhq.co.uk/action-man-vehicles/helicopter/index.php )
One day i decided to pull it down from where it lived which was at the top of our toy cupboard (i must have been 5 or 6 years old) and it landed straight in my face causing a small cut to the left of my face just below my lower lip. To this day, every year at around the same month that I did this , I always get a spot (well not a spot with a head but a sore swelling) at exactly the same place where it landed and made the cut.

My BIL had the parachutist. He was caught one day, aged about 6, trying to push his German Shepherd out of a first floor window with chute attached. He was stopped just in time. He later became a Royal Marine dog handler.
spikewilliams2@reddit
From dog mishandler to dog handler. I think mine was the parachute one. I remember throwing some parachute thing out of the window. Maybe it was one of those cheap all one lump plastic soldiers, or maybe my dad made a parachute out of a carrier bag and string.
ot1smile@reddit
I never had any of the vehicles but a mate who lived nearby had all of the available ones in the early 80s. I did have a carrier bag full of home knitted outfits that my nan’s friend had made though.
spikewilliams2@reddit
Haha I just posted my mum knitted socks for him. Now I feel like a deprived child that she didn't knit him camo wooly jumpers.
spikewilliams2@reddit
My mum knitted him some socks.

I had one with brown hair, eagle eyes and no beard. Came with the bog standard infantryman getup.
I did get the diver, which came with a small inflatable boat.
Didn't get anything fancy like the scorpion tank.
OrangeRadiohead@reddit
Eagle eyed, and one with dark hair and a beard. No idea what their names were.
Jazzlike-Basil1355@reddit (OP)
I think only Tom has a name

I'm a child of the 70s. I'd begged my mum for bloody ages for an action man because my mates had them. She's was a pacifist and eventually relented, but got rid of all accessories like the knifes and guns. Still, I got to play with the little water can...
3Cogs@reddit
I got a Little Big Man for the same reason. He was a ranger/tracker type character. You could also get a Canadian Mounted Police one as well.
I did get action man a few years later because my grandparents bought one for me.
OrangeRadiohead@reddit
The Mounty toy sounds so cool.
Haha, my grandparents were like that too (my dad's side).
Enjoy your day, cousin.

Conscientious Objector Man.

I had the talking Commander. Didn’t even have gripping hands! I remember it cost £3.65
The talk box broke, so I asked my mum to send it for repair. He went AWOL, and I found him a year later on a high shelf (still broken).
mr-dirtybassist@reddit
For some reason I only remember all my action men being naked. I think I had three. But I distinctly remember one of the came with a boat
