I‘d venture a guess and say italian 1950‘s Not a proper target rifle tho since it lacks a good rear sight

Dates seems right, I would not go as far that it’s Italian, can be Norwegian manufacturer that bought the license to make it ^^

Often called a venereal calipeter back in the dinosaur days.

better question... wtf with those calipers
devugl@reddit
They are Vernier calipers. A quick google will explain how to read them. They are high precision if you know how to read the scale.

Plus, it's from one of the best manufacturers. Grungy, but excellent quality.

Lol u dont know how to read actual calipers dude?
Eagle_1776@reddit
use em every day... not that Stanley tape measure mofo
easymachinist69@reddit
For large calipers like over 18 inches and beyond most are going to be Vernier. As long as you measure correct and don’t overtighten the fine adjustment knob you will get a reading that’s just as accurate as digital or dial
Shootist00@reddit
That's high precision calipers before there was digital or even dial style

.17 caliber pellet gun.
