Should I immediately update BIOS with new 9800X3D and ASUS TUF GAMING B850-PLUS?

I saw there were a lot of issues with this CPU in combination with some motherboards, mostly of ASRock, but I'm just curious should I be updating BIOS as soon as I build the PC or am I safe to install just the OS and go along with it?

Yes, I have heard of one or two cases of failure mode similar to the one dogging asrock, better safe then sorry.

Most if not all of the issues were on AsRock boards, which they admitted and released a fix. There were a few issues on other brands, however most looked like user error with damage on the socket itself.
I would update the firmware for sure but mostly because it is a somewhat new board which probably have a few bugs or missing features with the stock firmware. Many newer boards ship with close to beta firmware.

Yeah, best to update BIOS first thing. Even if ASUS provides good initial support, newer CPUs, such as the 9800X3D, often receive stability improvements through the latest BIOS updates. It is better to be cautious and prevent unexpected crashes.

Asus don't have the issue but you should still update it bc new one patches a security exploitÂ

Update the BIOS before booting.
